People who are pretending art doesn't influence culture are simply doing so for the sake of their hero.

I love Ranbir Kapoor as an actor. But I am sorely disappointed in his decision to choose this film. I am also heartbroken that Tripti agreed to such a problematic role. Just sad to see a good cast in such a toxic film. smiley19

If you are too sad to see desi women's plight with regards to feminism, please be familiarized with a American killer Chris Watts. He murdered his two kids and pregnant wife for his mistress. He is behind bars now but he regularly receives love letters from women and many women beleive his controlling and narcisstic wife drove him to murder by being too bossy and shrill and otherwise he was a nice man. He has fans and a reddit subsection dedicated to him.

It is not only desi women who idolize toxic men. Atleast Animal is a fiction movie. smiley36

He said this in anupama Chopra's interview.

When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there. She slapped him without a reason, at least Kabir had a reason to slap her. If you can’t slap, if you can’t touch your woman wherever you want, if you can’t kiss, I don’t see emotion there."

I want his wife's comments on above statement

Oh OK. Didn’t know his son was younger than the movie.

I have seen that segment of his interview with Anupama. Two possibilities here: 1. He makes these problematic and red flag statements just for shock value. He wants to trigger women and stick it to everyone who criticized his movie. 2. He actually is a toxic abusive son of a b!tch.

It's a film quote. Though in this context, TM is Chinoy Seth. But let me not take this further. smiley36

Ahhh. I get it. I’ve seen the anti-Trans women posts.

Did anyone here mention being sad particularly about desi women? Sadly, women everywhere remain ready to support toxic men. Why are you trying to minimize it at every turn by first mentioning class, then bringing in nations?

Animal is fiction. Brutality against women is very real, in India and elsewhere.

Glorifying violence against women in art does influence society.

All this violence, rape, bullying, torture appeals to men who they are the one committing it or watching it but the moment you are the victim enduring the torture that's when you realize how painful it is. So all the lecture goes down the drain.Art can go tel lene😡

Incredible that women are so willing to give up their safe spaces. What's the %ge of trans men asking to go to men's shelters, prisons, bathrooms? Very low if at all for a specific reason. Female biology renders us vulnerable. Ignoring reality doesn't make it go away.

Same for sports.

Not to mention the incels in drag attacking biological women.

Support for trans people should not come at the expense of biological women.

Support for violence against women falls along the same spectrum of thought. Women are always the last priority for everyone, including women.

Interesting that you make an entire thread to lecture other women on here about feminism just for wanting to watch a fictional movie but your own brand of “feminism” is completely trans exclusive.

Nothing else left to elucidate. Ciao
