You can't fudge collections in international markets like the US or Australia. They are not that kind of markets. Most films that have done well in South or Bollywood usually have had international collections in the same vein. So I don't really doubt their numbers. It's also kind of silly. Most people's evidence is, "My friend went to see Pathaan, but there were only 6 people in the theater. So the film is a flop". Like, get a grip. The world doesn't revolve around your imaginary friend's imaginary empty screening.

I remember when baahubali 1 did good business some were all “omg it’s all fake …how can a film do this kinda business when I never heard abt it …kjo is fudging numbers….how can a south film do these numbers aren’t there like 3 South Indians all over the world” 🤦‍♀️

Of course, anyone who wants to cheat or fake can do that.

It isn't limited or prohibited. International markets, too, actually they are ones to teach the tricks of trade.

Most collections are fudged to quite some extent.

Some are surprises that do well but can be a bit exaggerated.

This year all films have definitely been fudged except maybe a Gadar and Jailer.

Jawan, Pathan, Tiger though did well. The budget of these films were too high and to make it more believable lot of pr and corporate bookings.

Movies like KGF and Pushpa were low budget and became huge unexpectedly even Kashmir Files.

Baahubali was too big budget first film was definitely fudged but second one did do the numbers.

It is a combination of both

If a distributor makes money then only the film is a clean hit and in today's scenario it is very difficult to tell with so much pr and corporate bookings

It is real when it is your favourite, fake when it is someone you don't like.
