Its not about sour grapes. Bollywood actresses do not have much scope in hollywood. Even PC is doing small roles there.

Deepika is enjoying her stardom in India. She is happy here. She tried in hollywood and it didn't work out for her.

Even SRK said he didn't want to go to hollywood. He said he would rather represent bollywood to the world.

It is wise decision for bollywood actors not to go to hollywood. Irfan khan also did small roles there.

If it is about earning money, that is okay. But they will not get stardom there.

Madam ji, in that department, you suck on home ground too.

Her Alisha Khanna sounded atrocious.

Didn't she move from Bangalore to Mumbai to pursue a career in Bollywood? It's the same thing, but she wants to make a Mera Bharat Mahaan speech. Typical pick me behaviour.

She definitely isn't. Her smartness involves saying one thing in India and another in the US. Her PR must be working overtime to make sure her problematic acts do not get viral on Black Twitter or gen z twitter in general so that her 'woke' image stays intact.

And Deepika did not say anything problematic in this instance, at least. If Wendel Rodericks thought that she was the best thing to come out of the modelling circuit after Aish then she definitely had a career in Paris or London. She probably wouldn't have earned as much or didn't want to face the racism but it's not like she doesn't have what it takes any more or less than PC does.

India is her home. She can choose to stay here if its better for her here. She has kissed her national award tag goodbye in full consciousness. She hasn't yet changed her stances on things to cater to any particular audience lol. She is much less "pick-me" than what she has been in the past and what rest of the industry is lol.

Cannot believe this forum makes me sound like a Deepika supporter.

Aish and PC looked for opportunities in the west, because they where blacklisted by people supporting Salman and SRK..

South stars or BW stars don't leave their strongholds,unless forced to.

There is plenty of money here.Minor celebs live in luxury in Showbiz in India.

But she is right in everything she says...in her feeling she doesn't need to do it. It's up to the reader to do the interpretation... if one sees a dig about PC there, this assumption is the own choice, imo.

Coming from someone else, this would seem like a regular and perfectly reasonable statement. But given Deepika's previous attempt and flop in Hollywood, it kind of feels like a case of sour grapes.
