Aishwarya vs Kareena with their in-laws - Page 3

I think it’s more about personality clashes. Sharmila seems like a laid back person who rarely interferes with what her kids are doing. Kareena comes off as egotistical to the outside world but she also fawns over Saif completely, so I’m sure that helps tone down any friction at home.

Jaya and Aish both were pretty successful and have an ego to match. Joint families also tend to be very problematic unless there is someone smoothening down all the problems. I’m sure Shweta Bachchan’s reentry into their lives has muddled their lives even more.

But contrary to popular belief, I don’t think Bachchan’s have a bad family life....everyone’s doing their own thing and no one is complaining except for people who have no idea what goes on behind closed doors.

They have not stopped Aish from working or badmouthed her or done regressive stuff that most patriarchal households are known for. So, no idea where that backlash comes from. Was there anything in the news I missed?

Abhishek seems like a supportive husband (I have heard personal stories from not 15 years to now about his polite and gentlemanly behavior) and I think they have a nuclear family (Aish,Jr,Aaradhya) situation inside of the joint family. Keeps everyone happy.
Maybe it’s Aish’s choice to keep them separate from her work life. Who knows?! Socially, everyone from the family seems content with their system.

Jaya would not be an ideal mother in law. When Rani and Abhishek were together, Jaya apparently used to give Rani a hard time as well and didn't like her. On the set of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, if was reported that Rani and Jaya were both constantly swiping at each other.

A lot of decision making power in the family comes from who has more economic clout. Abhishek unfortunately does not have it. He is dependent on his dad's economic prowess. Hence he cant really call the shots . It is what it is.

I think this is where I’d make the argument that compatibility is more than what meets the eye …and more important in a marriage than just marrying a “Accha mature Insaan”…compatibility is literally how seamlessly two people sync and tolerate each others flaws …two really nice people don’t always make an ideal couple if they don’t sync well…and 2 assholes can even make a perfect couple if they are on the same page ..(not saying any of these people are assholes but just an example )

Both abhishek-ash and kareena-sail seem well matched but kareena and saif in terms of compatibility is off the charts …they just seem to “get” each and have each others back ..and like u said neither are people with an ideal history/reputation …shes had her issues in the past and so has he …but seem to accept any and every version of each other …I think they married each other coz they were both the right people for each other ….both became so much more peaceful, calm and happy post marriage …

With abhishek and ash, theirs isn’t a bad relationship but I feel like they married coz “the time was right” rather than the person being right …and I always felt like bacchans and abhishek were enamoured by the “poised dignified and perfect” ash….I feel the minute she slipped up abt anything or didn’t do/be the way they wanted, that glass image they built abt her would have shattered …although to give credit to abhishek, he seems to be a lot more supportive of aah than the rest of them….

Like that dialogue in Rocky rani where the mother says “when u don’t look at women like some strange species and look at them like someone just like you, that is when u truly respect her”

I feel like the bacchans burden ash with the “bacchan bahu” expectations and kareena is looked at more like a family member…and they just let her be …..sharmila might have done the same mistake as the bacchans with Amrita but maybe she learnt her lesson and treated kareena more kindly …

She is a star that most people could not even be lucky enough to see in real life lest they be blinded by her beauty. That is her reputation and stature yet the people on this thread sully her name by throwing it around in dirt to try and make it stick. In past lives, she would have been Empress of the World, such is her beauty, hence why she was chosen to play Jodha as one legend playing another. In future roles and lives, the part will shift to a goddess and then where will you be having denied her majestic presence? Repent while you can if you know what is good for you. Maybe don't open threads Aishwarya is a victim when she clearly is not? These are retaliatory threads.

Bachchans are problematic, but Abhishek, by all appearances, is a decent spouse. He may not be a success as an actor, but the guy does bring in money, and it's not as if Aishwarya is supporting the family. They appear to love each other. What more does a woman want?

Oh, I forgot... an A-lister. Even though he's oh, so slightly abusive.

Also, it doesn't seem like Abhishek or his family stopped her from making movie choices. Her bad choices are her own mistakes. The big, bad world is not holding down the poor but noble princess.

Funny thing is Aish seems happy with her husband and career choices. Some fans clearly think they know better than her.

I strongly believe that Shweta Bachchan is the main problem. Ash was very happy for the first 2 years of the marriage. Jaya and Amitabh both loved ash so much then something happened not sure what. Abhishek didn't liked how Ash was taking all the limelight, problems were there. They could been the power couple but abhishek could not handle it. Maybe that is why Ash refused many movies til she got sick of it. Sharmila has always given a lot of freedom to Saif and soha. With Bachchans there are rules you have to sit like this, stand like this, smile like this, eat like this which can be so annoying.

If Ash found a MIL like Sharmila then i believe her life would been bliss. I think Bebo calmed down a bit seeing her MIL. Environment makes a big difference. I think now Ash is tired of the in laws and even abhishek, and ready for work. There is a reason why she takes her daughter everywhere. It is sad that Abhishek is not by his wife and daughter side. But then again Ash lives with in laws and Kareena doesn't.
