I checked for the collections(133 crores vs 55 crores) so Sunny Deol is wrong when he claims Lagaan made only 2-5% of Gadar but he seems to be right about there being bubble created for Lagaan because until now I too used to think that both movies made almost equal amount of money.

Also lagaan's budget was higher.

btw rrr didn’t even show lord shree ram…it showed freedom fighter alluri seeta ramaraju who used to dress exactly like lord shree ram as per our history books …people didn’t even know who alluri seetha ramaraju was and that the film was based on him😂

And yea this “brigade” is not fans or people with a liking for anything…they can’t even pronounce rajamoulis name right , haven’t seen any of his previous work…can’t even get the lead actors name right in karthikeya 2 (a politician even invited the wrong actor (nithin instead of lead actor nikhil) to congratulate them on the film which became a huge meme in Telugu web pages 😂😂) so I will stick to my response

They don’t give a shit abt the film , its execution or its makers …they give a shit whether the film fits the agenda they are driving home …that is all ...which in fact shows their own insecurity because they are trying to bring down something instead of celebrating something

I honestly do not understand what has been exposed.

I mean, when you make a product, aren't you supposed to promote your product and make it appear more popular and desirable than your competitor's products? Why is Sunny so salty about "hawa?"

Anyway, anyone who was around that time knows that both Gadar and Lagaan were massive hits. Lagaan was more critically acclaimed and gained popularity in urban areas and award circuits. Gadar on the hand totally dominated mass markets across the country emerging to be the biggest blockbuster of the year.

I don't understand why people cannot be satisfied with that. Just because Gadar was a blockbuster doesn't mean that Lagaan wasn't a hit as well. It too performed very well being one of the top-grossing films of the year.

It isn't always a zero-sum game. Two things can succeed at a time. You don't see Christopher Nolan whining about Barbie being overhyped. In fact stars on both sides hyped each other films and joined in the Barbenheimer memes. I wish Bollywood audiences too learned to celebrate cinema as a whole rather than make rival camps.
