Bollywood needs to churn out original stuff - Page 3

Wasn't the forum celebrating the win of Pathan over *those south Indian movies* only weeks ago? Didn't we conclude Bollywood needs more of the 90s romance/family dramas of upper crust city dwellers? Didn't peeps decide writing doesn't matter?

And Karan Johar himself said only spectacle movies succeed (like Shamshera and Brahmastra). So that must be the case. Not the writing or diversity of genre or storytelling capabilities or acting talent or music. *cough* Zara Hatke Zara Bachke *cough*

I'm almost hoping RARKPK fails miserably. Yes, people associated with the film will lose money. But I don't see situation improving until the Johar types either learn their lesson (not happening) or are done and dusted.

Sometimes I wanna see a movie, I just don’t wanna see all the nepo kids. That’s the honest truth. Why do we only deserve VD, Jahnvi, Ananya etc level mediocrity? I’m so tired of all of them constantly being shoved down our throats that a movie that I’d consider going for even if it’s just “timepass hoga”, I have no desire to see.

Forget it.

These suggestions will not work.

Bollywood will never evolve nor will its audience.

They want same old mish mash of old rom coms, family dramas or nonsense revenge sagas and umpteen remakes or copying same old stars.

When audience also never wants fresh content what will BW do?

BW can and will NEVER make Barbie or Oppenheimer or Dark Knight or Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman or Avengers or Inception etc.

Lazies here would have added love triangle, saas sasur, maa baap, shaadi, divorce, bahu damaad in Barbie also if they ever made it.

Or show sangeet and haldi in Oppenheimer.

I was also celebrating only for SRK. But I still remember the bigoted posts. Actually, there was bigotry from both sides so can't really blame a particular group.

Point is KJo, Yash Raj etc are somehow adamant that these are the movies which work. It doesn't seem to matter how many *big* films fail and how many *small* films like ZHZB work. They will cling to one Pathan which worked for totally diff reasons and continue doing the same until all of them become bankrupt.

Then there's the audience. There were posts about how they wanted to see romcom-dramas with big stars and big sets, then peep wonder why BW won't make an Oppy or even a clever comedy like Barbie.
