I think, the best is to be the own PR... (e.g. as far as I know, SRK handles his PR with his own people and not an agency...and in the past, some of those with an own agency now have learned the know-how at RedChillies...with SRK telling them to go ahead and start an own business)

SRK had Mandvi as his PR, but since last few years Spice handles his PR. Well, I see Spice employees sharing stuff about him, so you can guess. All three Khans have Spice.

If this is majority of the viewers are behaving, then this does seem like KA's PR trying to give him the credit instead of the story writers and the people behind the camera

Kartik's rebranding as a bankable star happened after Bhul Bhulaiya's success. But post BB his movies didn't do well on OTT and at theaters. Satyakam got appreciation, (The last few day's collections are poor though the producers have been giving inflated numbers) and again Kiara is the heroine. So, it became clear why Bhul Bhulaiya also worked. So Kartik is desperate for the bankable star image.

And recently I've noticed the lead who doesn't get appreciated goes into overdrive with promotions and claims the movie did well due to their hard work at promotions. Kartik did it during Bhulbhulaiya opening week, Sara has been blabbering about her hard work for promotions of ZHZB and how the promotion made the film a success, not the content.
