Other than lack of passion or respect (for the art for the film Making process), the director is confused as to what he wants to show.
There are 2 categories of people for these kinda movies -
one who reveres Ramayan, believes it’s history. The makers have clearly alienated this category by disrespecting the epic. By giving chapri dialogues to Gods.
The 2nd category is audience who are open to the idea that Ramayan is fiction/myth not history. So this category comes to get entertained. But the makers didnt satisfy them by blatantly copying from LOTR, Got, HP, Marvel and so on. There is no originality.
Why would those audience watch this cheap CGI when they have access to foreign media at the snap of a finger. Maybe people would have been wowed by the copy decades back when the world was not this globalized.
Even in small things - like costume they goofed up. Ravan and male members of his family are dressed in full / western type clothing with fur lining and in the same scene the females are wearing sleeveless blouses in Indian clothing.
Lord Ram fights dementors with bow and arrow and same dementor ka leader uses a staff that dispenses blue rays like some sci fi movie.
the mash of genres and no grip on story is clearly evident.
