Hypocrisy on nepotism debate

I know we criticise stars for promoting kids or siblings and flops or plastics also getting work despite no talent.

But why do we have a certain section that calls stars kamina or selfish for not promoting family or friends and also bash kin for not carrying forward family legacy?

Aamir is shamed for not doing enough to promote Faisal and Imran and Faisal blamed him all life for destroying his career. Kids of Dev Anand were shamed for not carrying forward Navketan Films banner and shut down of Navketan banner.

Ash is called selfish and a bad sister in law for not promoting Shrima or Shweta's ventures as influencers or not promoting or being part of Navya's podcast as an aunt and many speculate she has rotten relations with her family. Abhishek and AB Sr were bashed for not promoting PS1 and we had long debates on if Ash is discriminated as DIL or her marriage is on the rocks.

Govinda is bashed for not promoting Krushna or having fallout with him.

Kids of previous stars were called failures or losers or nikamma if they did not succeed as much as parents or did something different and not carry so called family profession legacy.

Huh?

Why these double standards? We are gonna bash people for promoting family and we also speculate and bash if someone is not promoting family or not taking their help and wants to carve own path?

How fair it is?

In short, damned if you do damned if you don’t. Opinions are like armpits, everyone has them and most of them stink.😅

I am not opposed to nepos but I think the fact that so many are not talented and they still get work despite being flops or not improving is what annoys me. I mean, if my dad is a doctor and he can hook me up with connections to get into med school, of course I would take the chances. However, if I am not adequate, fail and just not good, why would anyone continue to support me on that path?

Shweta Bachchan is an influencer? This is news to me. Kya kar rahi hai wo?

There’s too many examples of people who struggle then gain a modicum of power and start doing favors for friends. What makes Them better than the people who made them struggle when they were starting out ?

So it doesn’t matter if it’s 1st or 2nd or 3rd generation. The corrupt practices exist in everyone

Honestly, I don't mind nepo kids getting a start or a debut. I think the main issue is when they consistently get chances after chances even after proving to be a dud or to be not minting money.

Also, another thing is nepotism is forgotten when a star is successful e.g. Allu Arjun.

Personally, I know insiders will get a head start and am okay with it. That's how all industries work. If Ajay D produces film for Nysa, there's nothing one can do except to reject the film to send out the message that nepo is not appreciated.

Also, when did any of the stars got bashed for not supporting their kin? I have never seen that. It may be very miniscule compared to the people bashing stars for nepotism.

Tbh I’ve no issues with nepotism. If someone works very hard & provides a headstart for their family WTF can blame them???! It’s all good & naive & utterly hypocritical for people to keep bleating on about how great they are but if they were in the same shoes, they would do EXACTLY the same or even worse. So let’s not.

What gets annoying is when undeserving nepo babies keep getting chances. I mean folks like Sonam Kapoor who is a horrid actress, horrible dancer, the only thing she brings to the movies is her beautiful face but those exist dime-a-dozen. I don’t count B Jr in this b/c he actually IS really talented! He deserves to be here. But when families in the business try to make Ananya, Jhaanvi, Khushi & Shanaya, happen…. Now THAT, is just Gdamn annoying.
