Even the dance competition did not have some big ulterior motive behind it. It was just fun and games. Bit of flirting

Coming to when Bunny fell for Naina -

Bunny was always attracted to her. Right from their first meet at the station.

"Agar mere paas dil hota toh smile par pukka aa jata" - that was him indirectly confessing that he is attracted to her.

The attraction grows, as they spend more time together talking about their ambitions

How Well Do You Know Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani?

But for a 20-year-old Bunny, his dreams took priority over everything else. Which was obviously the most logical decision to take. So, he leaves to pursue his dream

Naina moves on.

They reconnect again at Aditi s wedding. This time they were not immature youngsters on a track. Trying to get away from their reality in Naina s case.

They are fully grown, mature adults. Old sparked fly of course. But this time they connect on a much deeper level. This is clearly evident from all their conversation throughout the second half

Bunny confesses to His dad s death. All the regrets that he had. Them talking about their different outlook on life .

Dichotomy of Irony: More Love for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

This was where the attraction turned into love.

Bunny s conversation with Aditi is when he finally realized that he is in love with Naina

But of course. Their worlds were completely different. But this time Bunny was ready to settle down. Ready to make changes to his big plans for another thing. He finally understood and acknowledged the importance of other things in life, apart from his career

Great analysis by you !

They fell in love because that’s what all the lead couples do in literally every movie. Don’t think there is anymore depth to that. 😆

Most boring and overrated movie ever, I couldn’t even watch past the first half an hour. I liked the songs though, especially Kabeera but cannot stand even that anymore.

Bunny fell for Naina because she represented something he was not used to. He was used to bold, audacious girls throwing themselves at him, and she was completely different.

She was like a breath of fresh air, and as they say, opposites attract. He fell in love with her precisely because she was everything he has never encountered before.

Love doesn't even need a reason, it just happens --- as they say, we fall in love with souls, not faces. Bunny fell in love with Naina's soul. Her inner beauty attracted him, and the fact that she was so different from other girls he was used to.

After YJHD, Ranbir declared that it didn't matter who his costar is.. could be a 6 year old boy( or something to that effect)

Oh well.. it has been 10 years. His fans like him best with Konkona..so it has been more like 15 years..

I think it was quite obvious for him that she loved him. He was a loner at that time and he found solace in her company. Dad wasn’t there, Avi was lost in his world of Alcohol and Gamble, Aditi was getting married. He understood what he was lacking in his life. He became aggressive na when Naina gave her time to someone else. He clearly loved being her point of attraction and attention. So clearly he didn’t fell in love with her but with the idea of being loved. Even before Naina became a hottie he liked sharing things just with her (his collage book which was c personal to him)

Naina not just loved him for what she was in his company but also for the person he was. She watched him in awe taking care of his friends. She put his dreams on a pedestal. So clearly her love was superior. His love was more of being in love with the idea of being loved. His love was more for the person he became when she was around - More calm, more secure, more at ease.
