Mahima Chaudhary was offered the UK reality show Big Brother but turned it down. Now that Shilpa Shetty has won, does she regret not accepting it? "I am really happy for Shilpa," says actor Mahima Chaudhary, who was originally offered the UK reality show Big Brother. "Shilpa went there, and fought it out in true sense. Not everyone has that ability. The fact that she agreed to go there is a big thing. I am not kidding. It's not easy." Mahima says that many Bollywood heroines were offered the show. "I am sure every actor in Bollywood was offered this but I didn't accept simply because I do not have the mental makeup to be part of a reality show. I am an avid watcher of such shows, but to be scrutinised and criticised on TV by so many, well I can't take that! As I have always been in a hostel, I know what I would have to face there — petty politics and groupism — I didn't want to go back to it again. It screws your mind. As for Shilpa, all these vices of the world were new to her as she's always had a very protective life and look she's survived it all," says Mahima. Now that Shilpa has also got herself many assignments, post Big Brother, are there any regrets of not taking it up? "No way, even after all this I wouldn't want to go to Big Brother. It's good for her, but I don't want such name and fame. I am happy with whatever little name, fame and fans I have," she says |
