Per my opinion, every BW product is a collaboration between different people. Nobody can 'make' anyone if they don't have it in them

SRK wouldn't be SRK if he wasn't talented. He was destined to be what he IS today.

Exactly. Srk is an amazing actor but he did signed some really bad movies because either close bond or he looked upto them. Lets face it, My Name is Khan was a really bad directorial movie, script was really weak. Kajol role was not that great either. The entire Movie was on Srk. I really miss Yash Chopra and Srk Combo. Last movie of their Veer Zaara was beyond amazing. Wish he was alive not just for their movie, but he really understood love and family which we can see through his work. A very intelligent filmmaker. The trust and respect both had was amazing. All Yash Chopra had to say Srk I have a movie for you, Srk response was i believe in you, i don't need any details. And i think this is beautiful.

Everyone forgets the risk that SRK took......Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam when not one of the leading heroes were ready to take the risk of portraying a negative character.....SRK did because it was a do or die situation for him.....he didn't have a famous Dad, or money to support him.....the risk bore him fruits and now every Tom, Dick and Harry is there to take the credit for it....😃....How cute na...😃

Actually, to be honest, we don't KNOW how exactly everything happened...and it seems to be rather common that some actors (SRK among them) got roles because other rejected them.

It is every actor's/actress' CHOICE to accept or to reject a role (for whatever reasons)... it is the result that matters (e.g. the acceptance by the audience).

I don't think that it is fair to discuss things that did not happen (and I refuse to discuss other actors in this thread)...their refusals aren't because of SRK.

Well, for a newcomer without a nepo-kid background, it was indeed a risk to do negative roles and still become a (romantic) hero. (Btw, at that time, there wasn't social media where nepotism was discussed extensively, right? So, SRK getting roles through people who believed in him, was HIS OWN merit.)

SRK hardly has any blockbusters without YRF and Dharma.It is self-explanatory.

He got good offers at the start of his career due to his tv popularity. Big producers like kundan shah and Aziz mirza totally supported him and even Hema Malini selected him for her ambitious first directorial dil aashna hai.

He never had any shortage of offers that's why he had 5 releases in his debut Year 1992 and all were having him in romantic conventional hero roles.

Another major self-madeup and totally incorrect thing in the above post is the statement "when none of the leading heroes were ready to take the risk of portraying a negative character".

Salman Khan was very enthusiastic to do Baazigar, he was the first and original choice of this film, but Saleem Khan wanted a better climax which could connect with the audience (later the same climax was used by the directors which Saleem suggested) but the makers didn't agreed that time and Srk stepped in as the second choice.

Darr was also originally an Amir Khan movie, who already portrayed a negative and dark character in his 2nd film Raakh for which he was even nominated for the National award as a best actor.

Due to the joint narration issue with Sunny, which everyone knows, Amir had to leave Darr, a role he was very excited to portray.

Honestly SRK owes a LOT of his hits, overseas popularity, media being kinder to him and awards to YRF and Dharma. Particularly the access he got through YRF was a dream come true.

YRF has biggest penetration in overseas markets and Indian markets and is biggest PH of India. Being their darling has its advantages.

To say SRK made YRF is a joke given how Chopras were always powerful.

SRK, Rani, Kajol and to some extent Preity owe a LOT of their stardom to YRF and Dharma. Or else Kajol too was doing lot of B grade films especially with Ajay in 90s.

Aamir suffered due to fallout with Chopras in 90s. No wonder even he later began working with YRF and made up with Adi Chopra and let fallout with Yash Chopra be a bygone.

YRF is what it is due to Adi Chopra who is the best business mind out there.

Other stars did not get kind of exposure and films that SRK and Kajol, Rani got thanks to YRF.

Outside YRF we all know how many big hits SRK has.

Khan Saab's fans will always be bias in proving that he made those 2 studios, but the fact is, without those 2 studios films, he has got nothing.

What is the purpose of this thread when it has to be 1 sided bias viewpoint?

Before he launched his home production RCE, check out how many films without those 2 studios has he given in mega hit/blockbuster category. Is there something to be taken as example as look without them also he made this film bigger?

If a film is ATBB, Blockbuster & Superhit, I believe that film's hero/main lead has very big pull among audience to give that verdict films in consistency for almost 2-3 decades.

Remove those 2 studios films from 90s & you will have Karan Arjun as his biggest Super Blockbuster film, ab uss film ka credit bhi Khan Saab par akele nahi hai, Salman was bigger star(abhi bhi hai).

Baar baar SRK ko poora credit dena is bachon wali harkatein.
