This scene is memorable for showing their love and friendship.

If I'm not mistaken, Rahul only got to know about Anjali being engaged when the Ring was shown and she hurried away.
He got to know that she still loves him through the game. He himself always had loved Anjali (without having romantic feelings)...I think, it had nothing to do with Sari and long hair that he started to see her in another way than 'only' friendship (but should I elaborate it only to counter this argument repeated umpteen times?).
Well, I also object that "matters of heart know no ethics"...the contrary even was shown in the movie.
Rahul did not ignore Anjali earlier (which one can see very well in the school-bench-scene), he only hadn't romantic feelings for her.
Supari_khala & Raees:
Oh yes. for me,too, it was a very romantic gesture...one of many more in this otherwise un-romantic movie.
However, I disagree with "everyone only remembers SRK flailing his arms like a maniac when romancing" (how many examples do you need when he was romantic without 'extensive' arm-mouvements) ...you, atominis, prerna, others and I already named one. 😉

His Hamming is the best romantic scene + where he get other men's women's.
Yeah, some aren't able to see subtlety when they encounter it, they need the more 'drastic' expressions to get it.
And getting another man's woman is a very distinctive trope in Hindi movies, right?
But okay, I'm accustomed to generalizing statements about SRK's work as an actor...it's quite superficial, I think ("His Hamming" seems to be the most beloved argument when it comes to critizise SRK, closely followed by "getting another man's woman" 😉)

Nah, Rahul had no idea about the ring. Only she noticed it and ran off, leaving him confused in the rain. Then when she was outside in the dark, someone comes up to her and she confesses her love thinking it’s Rahul but in fact Aman (Lallu) had come to surprise her. That’s when both come back to the house and Aman introduces himself as her fiancée to a heartbroken Rahul.
I’ve somehow never found a sexier srk than mohan bhargav in swades
There is barely any heavy duty romance there but it works somehow
His interactions with Geetha are great
Especially the one in the classroom where he answers all her questions and pulls her close and she hits him with the chalk duster 😍
Also the one where he asks her not to miss him when he goes to do a chore for kaveri amma….
Or the one where she ties him a dhoti…and he’s all adorable and embarrassed 🤣
As I adore all the scenes mentioned here, it is clear that I have more than ONE favourite romantic scene (as I have more than one favourite movie or song or book or garment or food/drink etc.).
I'm not a favourite of questions about favourites and I don't like all these polls with only ONE option very much (sometimes, I still participate because I'm curious about the results which I can only see when I vote).
Fingerfetish, thank you for correcting/reminding me. I wasn't sure but hadn't the time to verify (and it's some years that I watched KKHH the last time). But at least I knew that atominis was mistaken by stating that Rahul made out with Anjali knowing she had a fiancé.
I am glad someone else named Pardes. I have always considered it the best romantic film of SRK. Arjun is an adorable character and so respectful. He earns trust of Ganga. He never touched her unnecessarily. She herself shares everything with him. He loves her silently but never conveys it to her. I love how protective he is about her and cannot see even her own elders slap her. Aap Ganga par haath nahi uthayenge...
I realise why female writers keep talking about alternative, gentler masculinity brought to screen by SRK in a culture where trashing women is a norm.
Okay sorry I mistook it.
But I found it somehow wrong. Kajol atleast knew she was engaged.
I felt bad for Salman's character then.
