Amitabh is not a bhakt. He has no ideology. He is such a smart man that he took benefits from INC and Gandhis at his peak and later took benefits from Shiv Sena, SP and regional parties and when he saw tide turning he began to warm up to BJP, NDA.

He is what he is precisely due to keeping close to all power centres and taking benefits from all.

He gets awards, land deals, publicity, favour from anyone in power. Smart man never took sides and remains a weathercock.

He has figured out Indian mentality like a pro and never takes harsh or strong stances or sides on any issues. Most diplomatic man.

Sounds harsh but it is true. Only one or two of them may remain relevant. Otherwise they have been on the wane for many years now in their late 40s or early 50s itself.

None of them have personality or aura of AB sr and they are not as diplomatic as him nor know how to reinvent themselves with changing times. Being an in demand star at 80 and raking in moolah for even voice alone at 80 is not possible for any star at all.

Time will tell... I guess, Amitji will work as looong as possible.

To be honest, I would prefer to compare Amitji with contemporaries and not with much younger actors.

He has outclassed, outlasted and left behind his contemporaries by MILES already.

There is a reason why he is compared to either yesteryear legends like Dilip or Dev saab or new guys or someone like Rajinikanth (who himself touches his feet and calls him hia idol).

Amitji is indeed a class of his own 😊 (that's what I wanted to convey) because - like you wrote - "He has outclassed, outlasted and left behind his contemporaries".

Not just his contemporaries but his seniors as well. He is above and beyond every single artistand sports personnel India has produced thus far. Future we don’t know but right now that’s the status.
