And I thought stardom determined openings. How much did Unnchai open at again? Or Amitabh's other film? WOM means people are watching because of good content, not stardom.

TOH opening was because of Amitabh? Then, Chehre, Jhund, Runway 34, Goodbye openings?

Kudos to you for calling Clint Eastwood, who directed a film at age 91, not as relevant as Amitabh.smiley36 Hollywood would be very surprised to know the rest of the actors on that list are considered less relevant in the world.😆 You are a true fan in the literal sense of the whole word.

I got confused at the inflation discussion 😆

All in all I’m sure Arsalan wanted to troll Khans and was really discussing making “good movies and good performances” rather than just pure box office. But someone once said there’s nothing inartistic about making money 💰

Troll away.

I don't believe Clint or Morgan or Dustin need me to defend them.

Oh, btw... KBC ain't acting. The Bachchans need him to earn. 😆

i am not trolling, so no reason to get personal there...😉

anyway, this is what happens when one doesn't read/ comprehend well.😆 I said "not VERY relevant". NOT that they had NO relevance. Imo someone like Tom Cruise is very relevant, and he has been very relevant for a long time now. He carries big time movies all by his lonesome. He makes a huge impact on the bottom line of the studios. Not chillar-change. In like manner, AB carries KBC. Totally. It's a big show with a huge impact on channel earnings... Also, nowhere does the topic ask us to restrict the relevance to acting, so not sure what silly stuff you're laughing at.😉

No, they won't be as relevant as him.

Aamir, SRK, Salman will be relevant through different areas, but not as much as AB, because AB helped define Hindi cinema in a way that makes him extremely popular with his core audience. Similar to how Dilip Kumar had a great second innings because he literally invented a certain acting style in Bollywood.

Aamir has gotten into a lot of political and religious controversy, and he doesn't have the good looks boost - if he stuck to old roles he'd be slightly better received than now in movies because he can act.

SRK's core fanbase knows him as a romantic hero, so with age he was going to struggle more than a AB would anyways, but the positive trait SRK has is charm on his side, which Aamir/Salman don't really have to that extent, so hosting a show or something will still keep him on TV.

Salman frankly is stuck with a lot of factors outside of his control (gangs, Bishnoi, death threats), which means that this future decade won't be as great for him, but he had more personal craze than Aamir or SRK. His father has made good investments though, politically and in the media, so his production company may be able to ride out this wave of criticism.

Why is he a nut case? What did he do?

he had a whole "obama talking to the empty chair" act in the 2012 republican convention. The guy is a wannabe gun-toting cowboy😆

I do not think so

Unless SRK or amir will accept old age father uncle etc smaller roles like amitabh bachchan

It depends on their ego- will SRK amir do 65/70 year old man at 60 year old like amitabh did?

Salman cannot play father roles because his image is of bad boy

Amitabh image was never like salman of bad boy play boy although he had affairs

Who will believe if salman calls a heroine beta?

But amir and SRK both have played aged characters in veer zara, dangal or parent in KKHH, fanaa etc so may be easier to transition to father role like amitabh

Amitabh took 10 year break from acting than came as old man father age later in 2000s.

SRK, amir can take a break of 5 years may be to come in father aged roles after few years

We cannot compare dilip kumar with khans at all because he devised method acting in indian movies in 40s when acting was more dramatized like stage OTT acting. Hes like marlon brando or Al pacino they get better roles with age in acting actually. Even balraj sahani, dharmendra, amitabh, srk say they learnt to act watching dilip kumar on screen. So you cannot really compare an actor or caliber dilip kumar or even balraj sahani or sanjeev kumar to khans. Its like comparing Einsteins(of acting) with some science 7th std students(which khans are). Even nawazuddin siddiqui manoj bajpai are better actors than all khans or akshay ajay etc at much younger ages. Even boman irani who started acting at 45 plus is better than these heroes of 90s

Its not about the films releasing. It's about doing substantial roles, commanding that respect also. AB discipline is next level. That's why big and small, all directors would work with him.

After him, only srk has that attraction where even new young filmmakers want him.

But he needs to remember he's 57 and get away from certain roles.

Khans or other actors do NOT have personality or carefully managed and curated public persona or voice or command over language like Amitabh Bachchan.

Only Rajinikanth comes close to Amitabh model of staying relevant.

Khans have weak voice, no height or charisma or aura. Aamir especially has NO personality at all and relies on social issues or scripts to stay relevant. Salman relies on mostly looks or style and has bad boy or manchild aura which does not keep one relevant at 80 atleast.

SRK has romantic image and that does not work after a certain age. He has better personality and language skill as well as family man image compared to other Khans and can stay relevant if he makes right choices but he lacks voice, height, aura and ability to reinvent that AB sr has.

Amitabh is what he is due to his unmatched baritone, command over both Hindi and English, carefully curated public persona, diplomatic ways, ability to take people of all generations along as he sometimes talks like a trad man and sometimes uses new generation woke issues and keeps up with changing trend and technology to stay relevant. Amitabh is also smart enough to cultivate good relations with all parties and is generally respected by all in industry and across political spectrum kind of like Lata ji. He is clever to never get into religion or other issues.

Same cannot be said for other stars. Hema, Rekha also focus on looks and staying relevant. Dharam is another one who is loved at his age.

Khans never had respect that AB Sr had due to his pedigree, impeccable manners, public image, religion, upper caste, elite background and man of the masses type roles he did which made him look like messiah to common repressed Indian masses. Khans never had his political or media management skills either and were too over exposed in their fights or controversies. No Khan has been diplomatic or weathercock like AB sr. They lack his versatility or natural advantage of voice, language, height and commanding screen presence as well.

Khans or any other actor will find it hard to stay relevant like AB Sr, Rajinikanth or reach level of respect that Hema, Rekha, Lata, Dilip, Raj etc had even at 70s or 80s age group.

That is because they are too vocal and came in age of media and 24/7 scrutiny. Also they do not have that caste or religion advantage either nor that personality, image.

Amitabh still does well in KBC which gets good ratings and does different type of roles or roles like Pink which keep him relevant in old age too and strike chord with younger audience. Other actors neither have that personality or connect across all sections of society nor that script sense.

His famous family only keeps him more of an enigma.

I do not think we have young actors falling at feet of Khans even now the way AB sr was called Bachchan saab even in 1980s and someone like Mithun also used to touch his feet despite being a competitor of sorts in 80s. This kind of stardom and respectable stature is earned only by few and once in several decades. Earlier Dilip, Dev and Raj had this status.

I will be surprised if any Khan manages to stay as relevant and has fans like AB Sr or Rajinikanth even at 70 plus. And sorry to say, the way some of them lead reckless lifestyle with all alcohol or smoking like chimney, one wonders if even they will live to be 80 or not.

To answer your question in short, second innings like AB Sr is something others can only dream of. It is not possible for Khans to get it. Aamir may remain relevant as filmmaker or director though or if he does dad roles like Dangal. Salman and SRK will find it difficult to get something substantial after a certain age. Hardest to stay relevant will be Salman as swag cannot sail boat of actor even in old age. He already looks jaded and old in Bigg Boss.
