I’m not sure what kind of reviews Code Name Tiranga has gotten but she got great reviews for Saina and Pinky. She’ll probably never be a star at this point but I think she’ll find her place in niche and performance oriented films.

As for what happened with her? She didn’t realize that her USP was her talent and decided that she had to be thin and glamorous and a star and that lead to some bad decisions.

I feel very bad for Parineeti n sidharth malhotra. They both were better than alia and varun but alia-varun became more successful n sid-parineeti r still struggling. Sid is still doing better than Parineeti. I thought Parineeti's movie Animal with Ranbir Kapoor will revive her career but she opted out from that for Imtiaz Ali's movie. I hope that becomes hit

Her acting actually regressed

She went from being uninhibited and fun , to becoming so self conscious and self obsessed that it spilled into the roles she was playing

I do agree she’s a one truck pony…at her best she plays the “bubbly punjabi /pathaka roles”….

At her worst she’s lacking authenticity and depth

I don’t think the audience cares much about her. She is anyway overhyped, I have always found her average, she was at least cute before but now all she is obsessed about are her looks and weight, has made poor career choices as well.

I agree about the bad PR and changing her acting style. But I think certain comments and reviews about her look really got to her and played at all of her insecurities which lead to her taking a year or more off. But also her bad PR comes into play because her return was all about her new body for months and months. Some of her interviews at the time were cringe.
