Cleopatra's relationships with Julius Cesar and Marc Anthony take place in her thirties. So that rules out some of the younger actresses for me too.

Contrary to popular belief, she wasn't particularly stunning or attractive. What made men fall for her was her charm, wit, and intellect. She was also a high-society fashionista of ancient society. A lot of elaborate skin care routines (bathing in donkey milk) and makeup using minerals are often traced back to her. She liked to live that high-society life. Which led me to immediately think of Sonam fist. She also has the cheekbones, nose, and eyebrows I associate with a Cleopatra.

But perhaps she falls short on the charm and wit end. So the only one from the available list that makes sense to me is Tabu. I mean Cleopatra had some Lady Macbeth level of cunning to play Caesar and Marc Anthony - and Tabu has done Lady Macbeth.

Seriously - Ash as Cleo though folks? At least Cleo wasn't Nubian. Or else this casting choice would be criminal (not that it isn't there already)

THIS!!!! I can always count on you here to give the most succinct, funny posts ever. ❤️ Hadey! I’ve missed you! 🤗

Never understood why people totally buy into the myth that Cleo was good-looking. It’s been years & years since that’s been debunked. 😆😆

But what a powerful personality! All these powerful & super-accomplished men falling all over her & marrying/becoming fast lovers with, that too Caesar & MA, just goes to show that she wasn’t a run-of-the-mill everyday beauty- That they could find absolutely anywhere. What she had, was super-rare & what they cherished. She was one of a kind.

Sonam K is an excellent choice except she’s actually beautiful. Tabu would be the best bet b/c she has the requisite acting chops & as you wisely pointed out, has already played Lady Macbeth.

No matter the character - be it Padmavati, Noor Jahaan, Mastani, Rani Laxmibai, Helen of Troy or Cleopatra- there’s only one actress suitable… Bahurani!!!

For that an actress would need to have exceptional talent and beauty like young Jaya. Aloo is the only option 😆

It very very much depends on the way the writer/director wants to cling to what one knows about Cleopatra (or just doing a fiction with a historical woman).

The first thought (before seeing the list) was Deepika (because of her long neck and her posture). Then, seeing the list, I also considered Tabu or Kangana (who could - imo - the best explore Cleopatra's historical character), but I don't want Kangana to get a historical woman role for a long time.

So, it would be either Deepika or Tabu for me.

priyanka chopra. aishwarya is too old. even a young aishwayra wont be able to pull off a part like cleopatra. cleopatra is not just beauty she was a strong woman with great political acumen.

Almost voted for Sam. But ended up going for PC. I for one think even Aish would have been a great choice.

That's exactly what Ash played in PS1 and Sarkar Raj. She would pull off this part with ease.
