Does political divide exist in BW too?

There were always camps in BW based on commercial or art cinema, families or friends or rivals.

But of late it seems if there are camps based on political ideologies also in Indian cinema?

Do people indeed work or do not work or offer work based on ideology or identity (religion, caste, region)?

One filmmaker on YouTube (not Vivek!) claimed some offer work to only people of own community.

Earlier Abhijeet and Sonu Nigam have blamed Pak lobby and Pak artistes snatching work from them or losing work due to Pak artistes. Few more years earlier, someone had claimed Lata and Rafi had used communal card to get singers work or get them out of work.

Anupam Kher, Kangana, Vivek, Mukesh Khanna also try to take digs at Khans or a lobby depriving them of work, recognition, awards.

These guys were literally gleeing at failure of LSC and Kangana and Vivek are spamming SM trying to claim Brahmastra collections are fake.

Is there indeed a divide in BW? And giving or denying work based on ideology, politics, religion or caste?

One Dalit filmmaker also claimed he faced bias in BW.

Diljit and Manjot have always claimed BW forces sardar actors to cut hair and get rid of turbans to get more work or if they want to last in industry.

Earlier actors had to change names to get work in BW.

So is it a sham that BW is an inclusive and diverse industry? Do artistes and bigwigs indeed favour artiste of own community over other?

I am confused how true these claims are given how Kangana has worked with people of different ideology like Hansal, Swara, Khers have worked with Khans, Ajay has worked with Salman and Aamir etc.

And Pak artistes had been in BW earlier also when Ghulam Ali saab sang for Nikaah, Awaargi and Nazia Hasan sang for Qurbani and songs became classic hits. It is not a new phenomenon for which Khans can be blamed.

Is there any community or political ideology based divide or cliques in BW or is it recent propaganda from frustrated lot online?

Whenever I watch Tanu weds Manu, I often get surprised at Kangana - Swara chemistry. I really liked their friendship. Then of course, even I started actively following politics. I often wonder if back then they were completely clueless of each other's ideology.😲😆 What if they have to work again, though it won't happen, but still.. How would the environment of the set be ? 🤣🤣

I can almost imagine Kangana and Swara tearing each other's hair out. I wonder how Kangana managed to work with Saif, Vishal Bhardwaj and Hansal Mehta or how Anupam Kher worked with Bhatts in films like Dhokha where he played father of a girl who turns into a militant after being raped by an army man.

Was he okay earlier and pissed only now?

Sort of a side note. I have always found it rather odd to adapt the western ideas of left-right to India. It just doesn't work.

To come to the point of discussion. I think like rest of the country, Bollywood doesn't really have a distinct left or right. Regardless, Caste, class, state, religion based groupism and favoritism is probably institutionalized in the industry. It's the same as all workplaces in India.

But how is PC right in India? I have always been a bit confused about her political ideology.. because I do remember her retweeting on the farmers issues, so she wasn't exactly supporting BJP there 🤔

The anti-farm law protests were strongest in the Punjab, Haryana, and Western U.P region. So people who were from there or had roots there was more vocal against farm laws irrespective of their political ideology. Not just PC, I also saw some YouTubers who are pro-BJP generally, on this issue became against the party. I do not explicitly remember if PC has proactively supported BJP in any particular instance. She did write Jai Hind during Balakot strikes and clapped during corona. I don't know if these two instances qualify for her endorsing BJP. 😆

Ideology is one type of identity as well. In one of the IVs Chiranjeevi said that the south film industry was not appropriately represented during some national awards functions. But that does not stop them from supporting each other during Lal Singh Chaddha. Similarly, Anupam Kher also revealed that Salman Khan congratulated him personally for the Kashmir files. So I guess differences in opinions, regions, and ideologies can be transcended at times due to profession. Sometimes people because of the profession look beyond differences and work together for the work that binds them together. When they are not able to do so, they split. Change in national politics sometimes also give platform and encouragement to people to speak for matters, which perhaps they always wanted to speak about but felt that the wave in the nation was not in their favor, or maybe they are just opportunists, who knows!
