This is the funniest thing I have read

Have lived in Delhi for over 10 years and was brought up there during my formative years - class 4th to 10th. Tu, Tune, Tera is very much the lingo there. Nothing wrong or indecent about it. Its just a different and more casual way of making conversation

I think you might be talking about Noida, Gurugram or faridabad. I have lived here from Nursary to current 2nd yr of my graduation, this lingo is common everywhere in India, but the way it is projected to be for ppl from Delhi, that is an exaggeration.

Nope

I have lived around ashok vihar for 4 years and then mandi house area for around the same period. The likelihood of a person from Delhi (esp a youngster) saying tu/tune is VERY HIGH. In school we used to say tu, tuney only even though at home i was saying aap and tum (originally being from bihar)

For folks like us, even a little success feels flattering, imagine the level of success this man has witnessed. I'm not justifying anyone's arrogance but I just won't be surprised if they are moments when you are like just chuck it bro, not going to take your shit, too awesome for that. 😆

The thing is that we can't specifically point it out to Delhi only. Tu/tune lingo only comes when you are close to your friends. It is rare if you ask someone and he will reply, "Tu tere baap ka". That kind of behavior isn't only common in Delhi, it is rash behavior. People who are brats or arrogant will behave like this. It is a common trait in North India.

Apnapan hota agar sirf ye kaha hota "Tu jo marji kar le beta". Jahan baat hui "Sabha tere baap ki hai" woh everyday nahi kehte kisi bhi stranger ko.

Dont quite agree. You are right for some cases, but for many folks it is the common way of speaking

and with SRK, it definitely can be attributed to him being a Delhite. He has said so himself many times

And yeah... I'd consider it rude. Clearly, SRK agrees. You can be magnanimous if someone calls you older than someone actually elder to you in front of the press, but most people would be a little peeved.😆

Ok maybe the guy assumed SRK is the eldest because he looks the oldest of them all 😆 that's not the journos fault. 😆he is definitely senior in terms of years in the industry, and most people wouldn't start using crass language like "tera baap", especially someone who's supposed to be "classy" and "charismatic". 😆

It's not about being magnanimous, it's about not being a prick. 😆

A school boy from delhi saying something like "tere baap ki jagah hai kya", is it similar to what a superstar of Srk status is saying to a journo?

If he is so charming, got so much success, will he show his delhite character by calling ppl like that, and for what, that journo isn't salman or aamir to whom he is showing off his anger 😆
