Was Tabu the right choice for Bhool Bhulaiya's role?

I feel like Tabu was not the right choice for BB's role. Tabu is the worst & least graceful dancer in Bollywood and did not suited the role of dancing sisters Anju/Manjulika. She looked hideous dancing in Aami Je Tomar and didn't had the sass to pull off the villainous Manjulika.

Someone who's a good dancer & have played negative role before should've done it, like Urmila. She already played a ghost in Bhoot & several negative roles so convincingly. She would've nailed it.

Aishwarya would've been great too but she's too big of a star to play supporting role. So I think Urmila would've been the right choice.

I agree. Urmila would have been a better choice - this was Tabu's weakest performance in a long time.

Having said that, the film itself was silly and much worse than part 1, which itself was a downgrade from the South films. So just changing the actress would not have done much.

Tabu was absolutely the best choice! I don’t know what you’re smoking. She made the film.

I watched only her scenes. When the promotion songs for Jawaani Janeman came out, I wondered why they didn't give her much screentine in the songs, and now I know.

But dhe was good as the villian. Her as Simran in Andhadun was better performance, I agree and maybe she should have used those character notes for this one but as it as BW rn doesn't have great villians to look out ofr, and she stands out of the current lot. Her head tilt in the climax reminded me of Olsen doing it every time Wanda loses it and then her just spiralling in Bengali was🔥

Idk why they had to do the dance thing though. It cod have just been a memory of their mother/father singing to them, or the two sisters' fav song Or something.

I didn't even think Tabu was a supporting role, in fact she was the lead. Everything was about her n her only. IDK, KA, Kaira made no impact. In the 1st one, you could see Akshay having some sort of role but in this one KA was more like a comedy relief, did absolutely nothing. While P2 is out n out about Tabu & she did a fantastic job.

Now, preferring another actress over her, that's subjective.

The Ami Je Tomar was just overused to hype up the film, it was unnecessary because both Anjulika and Manjulika would have the same story even without the dancing angle. That's why they didn't show them dancing much since the story didn't revolve around a dancer like part 1.

For me, Tabu was awesome. Only she can do those little quirky things like that chat on the bed between the sisters. The way she says Chal Phut to the ghost 😆

Exactly! There is so much nuance in Tabu’s acting. Imagine Aishwarya doing that. It would like another “are you like checking me out chudail”
