Can Kartik fill the void of this gen Superstar?

I know its early to say or maybe it's bcoz Ive watched BB2 twice now😆, but both the times after witnessing his craze in theatre I was wondering if more people have started rooting for him for more reasons than just his work.

Well he is good looking, has worked constructively on his acting & dancing skills and most importantly has a very engaging screen-presence.

What surprised me was people talking about the whole Kjo-Kartik fiasco during interval😆so I guess it ain't just online gossip anymore but in ground reality also people remember these things, maybe its the nepo v/s outsiders debate which has this residual effect on people so while Kartik's films have been entertaining be it Dhamaka Or Bhool bhulaiya 2, his underdog bullied by movie mafia story/narrative does resonate with people especially in today's scenario.

Because inspiring origin story is what all the new gen, "young" stars, starkids lack and Kartik has it to his advantage so if he plays his card right and remains grounded he might be able to keep stardom factor intact, something which is receding and being replaced by content. If he manages that then even attaining superstardom won't be a far fetched prediction with his seemingly promising lineup, strong SM, PR game and all his contemporaries are somewhat fading or are not able create any excitement also helps the agenda. Thoughts!!

Could be. He is not the strongest actor though but then many superstars don’t have the greatest acting chops. He is certainly has this aura where people connect to him well and yes the screen presence is undeniable. I remember seeing him for the first time in AkashVani and I was like there is something special about this guy he grabbed my attention in a not so well known movie. But it’s too early to credit him for BB2 success it’s a franchise and the nostalgia factor and curiosity around it in comparison to the predecessor also played a part in its success. Only time can tell, if his upcoming movies are superhit just because of him. Then we can say it for sure it’s too early now.

BW kaho ya south industries, superstars' era is over. The current era is directors' era. Janta lap up whatever crap those directors throw at them.

For the actors, the term should be, the seasonal apples of janta's eye, not superstar.

True, his biggest plus is his persona & characters being relatable, he grabbed my attention in PKP2 bcoz of his jawline😆but yeah like you said if his next few films continue to work then one can say he has arrived considering none of his films barring Dhamaka have been or are going to be content driven.

It's just one hit. He could as easily disappear with one flop. Superstars command consistency to be able to build a fanbase that'll prop their movies even if it's a dud. He's not there yet. As someone said, he most likely never will be, because the superstar, bumperstar Or whatever crap era is over.

His overall journey has been remarkable. Ever since he did that monologue in PKP series, I knew he’d go far. It’s been a very very long time since a complete outsider has seen this level of success.

I would still rank Ranveer and Ranbir above him. But Kartik is certainly better than the likes of Arjun, Varun, Aditya, Sid etc.

Yes if he works hard, acts well and has public support
