There are definitely fake cases against men. But that shouldn't undermine the real me too cases.
If it was a society where everyone has equal rights and privileges, a lot of these accusations wouldn't stand. But the young tween women who newly come to the industry looking for opportunities are already at a disadvantaged position in that they don't get to pick and choose the kind of roles they want to. They are at the mercy of their employers to land a Job. So it is very easy to take advantage of them since they are young and desperate for work.Taking this POWER IMBALANCE into account there are workplace laws that have been put in to punish those at a privileged power positions "grooming" or making false promises to these women and taking advantage of them.
young girls don't realize that they are being taken unduly advantage of when they are new . They completely believe that they are in love and that they are being mentored and guided .But after a length of time, when they do understand that they are being misused and abused, some like Kangana Ranaut will have the courage to come out and speak about it, While most women don't speak about it. They take the abuse , keep silent and go back to their village and live a life of shame and disappointment and broken dreams.
Most of these men have a lot of privileges in society like their age, success, influence, position in society. It is very easy for them to exert their power and groom these women (from small towns who come to MUmbai with big dreams) to take advantage of them by making false promises and later not fulfilling their promises once they get what they want.
