Who had the greater career in Hollywood: Aishwarya or Priyanka?

My vote goes to Aishwarya. Priyanka has mostly just done side roles and most of her media attention has been focused on being married to Nick Jonas and her new baby rather than her actual work in films.

Aishwarya had more international coverage, thanks to Oprah, and her status as the most beautiful woman of the world. Bride and Prejudice is a movie that introduced many westerners to Bollywood and India. I know many young people remember it fondly today and it's considered one of the best Pride and Prejudice adaptations, which is saying something considering how many versions there are. She also had leading roles, unlike PC who has mostly stuck to side roles. She was also critically acclaimed, especially with Provoked, which proves to her detractors that she can act and is not a glossed up doll.

Priyanka’s projects as lead haven’t even released yet, they will start releasing end of this year, next year and for years to come. She’s barely even started.

Priyanka has been working in Hollywood for almost a decade now, since she started that singing "career" which ultimately went nowhere. In almost 10 years, the only thing she has to show for herself is the TV show Quantico which fizzled out very quickly. Her movies have all been side roles as supporting characters and none of them box office hits either. If after almost 10 years in America she is only just now starting to get lead roles, then that shows that her career trajectory is not very promising. So I don't think it's fair to say that she's barely even started because she started a long time ago if we're really being honest.

Compare this to Aishwarya who had lead roles from the very beginning in Hollywood. She had some supporting roles as well, but most of her western movies have her as a lead. And then we also have to look at the scripts she could have taken but turned down. A major movie like Troy, which featured Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom, was turned down by Aishwarya because she refused nudity. I have not heard of any major American movies or epics which Priyanka could have been part of but refused on her own volition. If anything, she has turned down the Bollywood equivalents because she thought she could make it big with a side role to heroes like Chris Hemsworth but that did not work out for her either.

Which side role to heroes like Chris Hemsworth?? I think you mean Priyanka walking out of Bharat for the movie with Chris Pratt, Priyanka was the lead actress in that but it’s shelved for the time being.

If you consider rumours of turning down movies with famous actors which might not even be true as a bigger success than headlining an American show for 3 seasons or producing an Oscar nominated film or working up from side roles to lead roles then that’s your opinion, I don’t agree.

Outside of this forum, people hardly give a shit about Aish. It's just the vocal minority here still stuck in the 90s - 2000s who hype up Aish. She still has her legacy as the most beautiful woman, but I wouldn't call that amounting to a great career in Hollywood/acting.

I would say Aishwarya....because career in BW is not just being a good actor and doing good movies....its more about the hype and aura that one creates ......although Priyanka is a far superior actress than Aish....but Aish has that aura and hype around her..

Sorry, I meant Liam Hemsworth. I got the brothers confused for a minute. I was referring to his movie Isn't It Romantic, where Rebel Wilson is the lead heroine and PC plays the sidekick. On cover art for the DVD and the general poster, PC does not even appear which shows how she is not viewed as marketable enough to even sell the movie in the west.

The reports about Aish in Troy are not mere rumors, but in fact true. You can Google it and a number of sources will confirm that Aish was offered the movie but turned it down as she found the nudity of her role offensive and not fitting her values back home. I was a fan of Quantico and it was a big hit the first season but ratings dropped until the point where it was barely being promoted on ABC and the last season was given an early summer release which is the time slot where most shows are sent to die. The early success of Quantico showed promise but it did not hold up and there is a difference between being a TV star and movie star. Even today in Bollywood, TV is mostly used as the ground for new stars or older actresses who cannot get roles anymore unfortunately. You will not see any of the big stars like the Khans or the top actresses working in TV. In Hollywood, TV is fine for premium channels like HBO but the cable channels like ABC is not where the prestige dramas are.
