Hollywood reviews on RRR and the industry's silence/priorities

One may have loved RRR or not but we can't deny the big screen spectacle it is and success

what has amazed me is the response from hollywood and with this I don't mean some side stories bur real main stream hollywood and big names , it is just beyond what any indian movie has got, they are just raving about it

does for Indian freedom fighters what Zack Snyder attempted in the Justice League, imbuing them with an indestructible, mythic quality, propelled by a heroic bloodshed style bromance of John Woo proportions.

they have watched it 5-6 times

what it shows, be unapologetic about taking indian themes and be true to your sensibility and original not a wannabe hollywood copy and you will resonate

also telling is bollywoods silence who hype the slightest mention of hollywood. come on a fashion ramp walk on cannes is hyped as they though they have been felicitated for their films , its a film festival for god's sake, shouldn't you be showing your films not fashion.

the only other real hollywood breakthroughs I can think of are satya jit ray (intellectual though), oscars for bhanu athaiya, ar rehman, resul pookutty and irfan's acting in namesake or shekhar kapoor who actually made a mainstream english movie with a top star but do we ever hear them being talked about in hollywood context.

only hype is for 2- bit roles in b grade movies or some passing mention on a fashion rag

this is the state of people who are heavyweights who made an impact and this is the crux of nepotism debate, not star kids or insiders but the effort to blindside and push out anybody who is not an insider by controlling media and narratives

this is also because every so called journalist or critic is a wannabe film writer or director, obviously they bend backwards to please the establishment
