When you are legally married, you gain a lot, respect from society, a family kids etc.
Even a lot of monetary advantages.
There is a lot of glamour and temptation of sex in this field so basically couples get a free pass on sex as long as it is only that and the family or marriage remains intact.
Lot of celebs, high profile business family do that
One day a senior engineer from ISRO sent a message to me saying that "if you are willing to sign prenup, and believes in open marriage we can meet" . I believe my thoughts about individual freedom gave him the wrong impression that I will be okay with open marriage.
What I am saying is even in a conservative society like kerala there are professionals especially Engineers, Doctors and corporate heads believes in open marriage. There is a group with more than 50 members ( all malayalis) in club house who supports open marriage. A decade back my mother said that in Army partner exchange was common.
I believe along with monetary advantage, emotional support, strangely sense of stability and all aspects except sexual matter are reasons for these people to marry when they are sure that sexually they will not be satisfied with one person.
