There is no reasonable member on this forum BI. Everyone is a bloody hypocrite

People here have made jokes about ranbir and ayan getting covid by being in contact with eachother. I am yet to see any such joke about deepveer/virushka/vickat etc.
People here have made fun about ayan snifing ranbir s underwears . Nobody makes such jokes about other couples
So no people here are homophobic. That's just a fact.
In this context yes it is the same thing. People make jokes about Deepika for being petty. People make jokes about Ayan for being hung up on RK for years and not moving on.
People don’t make covid jokes about deepveer, Virushka, Vickat because these guys are married. Everyone knows they are in contact and susceptible to contagious diseases. Ayan and Ranbir are not a couple so jokes about them getting covid is a gossip fodder because Ranbir has been with Alia for years. Just like before marrying Nick Jonas anything about PC would bring out all the SRK jokes, including jokes about Abram getting another sibling when PC fainted on the set of Bajirao Mastani.

COVID is a serious condition if you are really going to use that as fodder. And you think it's ok. Then i have nothing to say.
Hahaha you are seriously reaching right now, you know that right? This is why no one takes your so called advocacy against homophobia serious. It’s just an excuse for you to defend your favorite.

Jokes were made about Vicky and K catching COVID together last year... quickie Kaushal and what not. In fact Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha were also not spared on all SM sites. People comment mostly for fun. Nobody has a personal vendatta against any celebs... slight dislike and like.. that's it. The same is the case with Reddit now from what I hear but I hardly see Kaka stans crying about that site.
Not everyone is being a homophobic jerk or trying to make fun of Ayan's loneliness.
Everybody here reacts that same way when it comes to their fav . So there is no need to single out a particular fandom . Evetybody here is a bloody hypocrite
I was not even "crying" as you put it .Nor did I say anybody has some personal vendatta. Can you stop twisting somebody s words? Its just that i dont find it cool to make fun of ayan s loneliness specially when society contributes to it

If you don't find the jokes funny doesn't mean everyone has to agree with it. Stop with the name calling.
Stop with your overreaction .

There are a whole lot of things wrong with whatever you said. That being said, just because a lot of people doing it, it doesn't make them right.
I acknowledged that I was wrong about bringing heterosexuality as an example. I shouldn’t have that done that. But I stand by everything else I said in my original post. I never made the argument of “everybody does it” therefor it’s OK. I said, and I still say, that making jokes about Ayan’s years long love for Ranbir is entirely about him being in love for years and not moving on. I have not seen anyone bringing any homophobic tropes into the discussion here on IF in recent times.

That's true. I suppose anyone could wake up one day and suddenly become homophobic. All of a sudden. With no warning. Even though they've supported gay rights since forever. It could happen. For sure. 👏
Suddenly my respect for KJO has increased manifold. He has endured the worst of jokes and nastiest of comments and yet been unapologetic about his sexuality. That's the way to go! Being overly sensitive and trying to shut everyone down doesn't help but being self accepting and unapologetic does! But then it's just my opinion.
I agree, ideally, it's not good to make jokes on lgbt, or even obese, blind, hakla, age, etc. But not every joke is made with a malicious intention. It's the intention which counts.
Ofcourse some people may not be strong enough and get hurt by such jokes (case in particular channa mereya song). If i were making such jokes personally on any gay man and he took affront then i would stop right there and apologize. But IMO this is quite a harmless joke about unrequited love and if it were used on Kangu or someone else, no-one would have had any issue.
Oh... Now i realise I've written an essay. Damn u IF 😡
