The shows are not trying to normalize the languages. Its already normal. The youth of India is more abusive or knows more abusive words than that are shown in webseries .The shows are 18+ and for entertainment purpose .

What's more confuising is that parents are okay with their adolescent and teenage kids watching nudity but they have a problem with the abusive language.

If at home, use parental control on the remote/TV. Regardless, you can’t shield your kids from the world. The best you can do is raise them to delineate between right and wrong on their own.

And see..using casually among friends is a different thing..people like me may not approve of that but of course they won't approve of our disapproval either..

But unnecessary and forced usage on a public platform can be controlled?

Like..did Gehraiyaan need it in every other sentence?

It is an outlet, just like we rant on the forum. Your mom or your dad doesn't matter. Actually, for everyone, their mother is everything. So if you abuse the mother, it hits the hardest. So that's why most cuss words use your mom instead of dad. Classmates and teachers themselves know all the cuss words. Why would they be uncomfortable?

It is not unnecessary and forced. F word is common in the cities. In fact, not showing the society its mirror is a failure of the art and artists of a nation.

Gehraiyaan didn't need to be there, forget any word or sentence.

The only solution I can think of is restricting children's access to such content. But that doesn't always work because of torrent etc. Everything is available for free online (on illegal sites).

Honestly I was shocked when I learnt that my neighbours 11/12 year old has seen Squid Games that has nudity and violence. She's too innocent for all this. 🥺

Aur pata nhi kya kya sab latest web series dekha hoga.

But why will your children be watching content that's not made for them? Every OTT platform has parental control, the solution is right there in the remote in your hands. Plus nowadays every OTT show has a warning on top left at the begining of every episode clearly mentioning if it has abusive language and nudity or not. So one can very well be prepared before watching the show.

The onus on such things is frankly on the parents, not on the makers since they know they are making such shows for adults.

M not talking about my children..can take care of them.. I used to teach teens couple of years back and observed them.. and saw the girls disliking it and scolding the boys too.

just asking if it's needed at all?

Well..many here feel it's normal and already prevalent in society..so guess m living in old times

Well..to be honest 18+ is a more vulnerable age compared to 10, 12, 14, 16+..plus very independent n headstrong as they officially become adults..

But fine enough..let them make their own choice

I also cringe at the excess use of the F word in movies. It’s so unnecessary. Maybe you can avoid watching these type of films when your kids are around. That might help lessen the exposure. Better yet, encourage/entice them to watch the good old 90s films. I’ll be doing that with my future kids. Their first word after Mama and Dada will be SRK. 🤗😂

First find them a dad like Anupan kher in DDLJ..and a college like in KKHH 😆 u r setting high standards

If for some reason HW movies, TV & OTT shows stop using F word, then Indian entertainment industry would too... Even the upper class Indians...
