Anyway it’s premiering on TV soon, so those that couldn’t watch it will be able to see it and hopefully it gets a lot more appreciation

I didn’t know Swades flopped, I always thought the movie had done well as I have seen people praising the film

Good film and bad film is for this forum and critics...at the end of the day a movie which clicks with audience is a good movie...otherwise you can't explain the failure of 83 and Swades and the super hit status of Simba and HNY..😆

Even if there is still 50% occupancy in some states there was alot more fear of getting covid the time 83 released, I saw many people saying they wanted to watch it but chose not to coz they were scared of getting the virus, now there is much less fear, many more people are going out compared to when 83 was released, plus many theatres around the country fully shut, all of theatres in Delhi shut and that was a key city for collections

But even still 83 managed to collect over 100 crs, which isn't bad, its just that the budget was too high

Absolutely and him being the benchmark for everything means that he is doing something right.
