Shabana Azmi vs Smita Patil

Both are great actresses, winner of many awards and accolades, critically acclaimed, commercially successful, popular and have done extensive work in art or parallel cinema. Also, both have always been compared with each other throughout their career. So, upon comparison, who do you choose and why ?

I like Smita better as an actor, her voice, clear dialogue delivery and command over language.

She would have been even bigger icon if she lived longer.

Shabana looked better than Smita in commercial films while Smita was clearly uncomfortable in commercial cinema.

So I am kind of divided.

I still rate Smita better for more daring choice of subjects and better voice, language skills.
