Twinkle is like her dad and has a huge ego, superiority complex and thinks of herself as some royalty. She also thinks she is superior in terms of intellect, wit, eloquence or is more educated than Akshay who is a dropout.

Her so called sense of humour and author skills are overrated. But she gets all hype due to her famous parents and husband.

I am not surprised she mocks Akshay openly. That said, she may also be tired of his philandering ways.

It was said they married because she got pregnant and their marriage was rushed because Rajesh Khanna would not tolerate anyone simply fooling around with his daughter like Akki did with Raveena and Shilpa etc.

Akshay probably agreed because being son in law of Rajesh Khanna gave him prestige which he lacked due to his choice of films and being an outsider.

He became more media savvy and selective about choice of films, more image conscious after becoming Rajesh Khanna's son in law.

I think Twinkle also knows how marrying her raised Akki's profile in industry and public eye, which is why she throws her weight around.

She has her own successful design business and earns in crores herself which perhaps gives her greater pride as she does not just depend on her husband for money.

She is darling of liberal and feminist media and her family is closely connected to INC as Rajesh Khanna was member of INC himself. So she feels she has more experience and connections than her husband who is still new to the game (eg forming connections with politicians in BJP).

Both are a clever couple and keep strong connections in politics, business and cinema world and feed off each other (Akki's present fame, Twinkle's inherited legacy).

So even if Twinkle is a snob, elitist brat or Akki is philanderer, it does not matter and they will not leave each other because they profit off each other.

I think it would suck to constantly 24/7 x 20 years have people pushing past you to talk to your husband, no matter who your husband is. If she did think ‘this is my award why are you inviting him up here right now’ I wouldn’t blame her. Maybe the eye roll wasn’t for Akshay but for the interviewer using Twinkle to talk to her husband. So then why wouldn’t she talk nicely with Akshay - it’s not really his fault and might have been worse if he’d refused to come up.
