I know.. but the way you have phrased the scenarios makes it seem like two guys wanted her, one who then thought about someone else while dying and the other who saved her from torture😆 but neither Harry not Hermione thought on this lane.. just like Hermoine and Ron loved each other, so did Ginny and Harry..

The comparison makes no sense, Harry last thoughts weren't about kissing another girl, it was THE girl who it'd been all along.

However if I take the options as they are currently phrased, then option no. 1. I could move on from the guy but atleast I'd be alive with no residual guilt.

As for the 2nd option, I couldn't let someone do that for me. I pay my debts off in relationships and wouldn't want any gestures that would be physically impossible to reciprocate in future.
