Why SRK- Katrina jodi was rejected by the audience? - Page 2

Katrina has had great chemistry with Akshay, Salman, Ranbir, Imran even with Sid she had good chemistry.

JTHJ as a movie and the character sucked so the movie and chemistry fell flat.

Plus SRK does not have chemistry with every co star of his, I mean the whole SRK and Kajol fell flat in many places in Dilwale

I don't think Katrina's mediocre acting is the reason for their lack of chemistry. Katrina otherwise has sizzling chemistry with Akshay and bombastic one with Salman. Her chemistry with Ranbir or even with Imran was cute. So this isn't solely on Katrina. I think SRK and her just don't gel well on screen. It can also be the storyline, because who are we even kidding, JTHJ's storyline was as juvenile as it can get!

You're right. Katrina alone can't be blamed. She had Hit chemistry with many other actors. But can script be solely blamed?

The movies where SRK and Kareena were paired together, none of them were Hit or memorable and neither anything special was said about their chemistry, but their jodi wasn't rejected either.

He didn't look so good with Anushka either or Kareena!

I think SRK/Katrina is still better than SRK/Kareena

Their looks don’t suit each other. They don’t look believable as a couple. Also Srk didn’t look his best during the Kat/srk romance phase. He looked better in the army phase with the beard. They tried to make him look younger in the romance phase which accentuated the problem.

Katrina cannot act and SRK looked aged.

For romantic or emotional films you do need actors who can emote. Katrina cannot emote to save her life. Sorry.

I also felt SRK was uncomfortable in kissing and love making scenes in that film with Katrina. He looked awkward and almost looked as if Katrina was forcing herself on an unwilling man. Their intimate scenes did not look even consensual let alone romantic.

I believe SRK should not have been made to do things he has never felt comfortable doing onscreen earlier. He is awkward in kissing or love making scenes and it shows.

Anyway JTHJ is also a boring, poorly scripted film. Actors could not lift the film much. A film like that may have worked in 90s with some other actresses opposite SRK but it was too jaded to work in 2012. Yash Chopra romances are outdated and rarely click post 2000s.

I have not seen Zero so cannot comment on it. I guess Katrina's lack of emoting skills may have added to jodi being rejected. She is only good for comedy or glamorous roles which is why her jodi with Akshay or Salman clicks, or ended up working in Dhoom 3 with Aamir too.

The films she did with SRK require a certain level of acting and emoting which she clearly is not good at.
