Princeton University has numerous Dining Clubs, you pay $5000 for a year approx. Bade Log Bade Bade Baatein. Wealthy Indians in the US, and their kids look down on State Universities. Private Universities are their go-to if the kids fail to get into Ivy League Universities.
State Universities are simply not good enough for most of them. Having said that my kid graduated from State University and works with people who are from Ivy league schools.
I’m going way off topic but it gets really hard to resist wanting “the best” for your kids when the time comes if you can afford it. I went to public schools my whole life including college and grad/professional school and I’m doing absolutely fine - better than I probably deserve - and I think my kids would have too if they’d gone to public school. But way back when they were preschoolers we looked at the public schools and we looked at the private schools and the private schools were much nicer and we went private and have been stuck on that road since then. Now he could go to several really good public schools essentially for free with merit scholarships … but we are still looking at schools that cost 50-100K per year because they have a better ‘reputation’ even though I KNOW the education is not that much better and he’d be FINE at the public school. It’s madness and I’m insane!!!! 😆😭
