Lara Dutta is out of Anil Kapoor's Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Udayananu Tharam. Kapoor says Lara had date problems because he rescheduled the film.

"We was supposed to start in January, but now we'll go on floor only in May. Lara could not accommodate the film in May, so we are now looking at finalising another leading lady soon."

Date ka chakkar

Why was the film pushed to May? Anil explains, "I pushed this forward because of Subhash Ghai. I am doing his film Black & White and Subhashji wanted my dates in January and February."

Udayananu Tharam is being directed by Roshan Andrews, who also directed the original film. In the Malayalam version, Mohanlal played the role of a struggling assistant film director and Srinivasan played a successful actor.

The Hindi version will star Akshaye Khanna in Mohanlal's shoes, while Arshad Warsi will play Srinivasan's role. Anil Kapoor will play a significant role in the film too. "My role is the surprise package in the film," he says.
