Regarding French culture - I am amazed that a country could celebrate Bastille day as their national holiday every year considering the gruesomeness

But French people (or maybe just Parisians) have always loved gruesomeness it seems, people being guillotined en masse on public square used to happen on a regular basis and people used to love watching it

And the use of guillotine continued well into the 20th century, up until the 1970s...

Contrary to popular opinion, I feel they have shown the French in a balanced light. French ARE rather mean in general, those stereotypes are not just stereotypes, they are snobbish and I have experienced that first-hand. They are aesthetically inclined and have high standards in art, fashion and food. They are promiscuous. They are also cultivated, sophisticated and well-read. So I never felt they went overboard with the depiction.

The French are a LOT like Kolkata Bengalis then, except the "overly mean" part.

I sometimes feel that Kolkata culture from the 19th century onwards was a curious love child of traditional rural Bengali ethos, British sophistication and the French sensibility for art and culture.

Also, just like Parisians have nothing in common with the rural and downtown-living French, Bengalis living in areas other than Kolkata have less than 60% similarity with Kolkatans.

Hated it.The show was very boring to watch.Except Emily's wardrobe nothing was worth watching in EIP.I couldn't even finished the first episode of the EIP series due to boreness🥱.

Unpopular opinion by the looks of it, but I enjoyed it! Was a fun binge watch. I didn’t think she was a style icon but what she wore, she carried off well. Were the French stereotyped? Sure. Do some stereotypes exist for a reason? Yes, they do. The French are particular about making the effort to speak French, a lot of them do smoke and they do tend to be more laid back on the whole. I loveeee Paris, so watching it on screen makes me happy. From Galeries Lafayette, to the Eiffel Tower or just the chic boulangeries, it was fun to watch.

Think someone mentioned the issue with the Chinese stereotype too? I actually liked her character! I mean wasn’t Raj from BBT painted in a similar light, excluding his introvert nature? You’ll have to explain why it’s problematic to me.

When is Made in Heaven season 2 coming out? I literally cannot wait.

I watched the entire show and enjoyed it 😊 I came across it while searching for films/shows based on social media.

The show also increased my desire to go to Europe! That desire was also increased by JHMS.
