Kartik never gave me good vibes. He acts like a wannabe. Not saying KJo is a saint but Karthik must have rubbed him the wrong way for them to take such a huge decision. KJo is super smart and he knows any wrong move will land him into more trouble so I guess there’s some work issues.

Something big went down because he didn't even use the usual dates issues or creative differences excuses.

Back in Feb there were already rumors that KJO was pissed because Kartik told him he didn't want to resume filming because of Covid so couldn't give him dates but then Kartik went on to sign and film Dhamaka instead.

Kjo is ok with Varun walking out of MR Lele after announcing the film .. but has issues with Kartik developing cold feet on the script ..

The only damaging thing is that 20 days were shot and that’s money down the drain ...

Whatever the reason might be but bollywood hyped up Kartik Aaryan so much now he's left down just like that!? He's atleast better than some other actors

This is what happens to the folks with no backing. Not trying to support them for their unprofessional attitudes but people like Karthik cannot just afford an off day.

That's a HUGE difference and why there are few walkouts by lead actors during the middle of filming. Or even few firings which is why certain actors and actresses have been allowed to make the director, writer, producer and co-stars working life a misery.

A few things don't add up here for me:

1. Post SKTKS, Kaartik worked with Imtiaz Ali and is currently working on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Aneez Bazmee. None of these directors have had a problem with him, only Dharma seems to have one. Why?

2. Kaartik as been around for more than a decade now, right? If he was such a pain to work with, it should've happened after the first PKP. How did the guy manage to work with Luv Ranjan for 4 or some films till date if he has issues with attitude?

3. Do they really expect us to believe all these lead actors date their costars and the relationship goes kaput just after the movie releases?

4. Chalo for once maan lete hai that Kaartik and Janhvi are a thing. Kaartik had no problem promoting LAK with Sara, who were apparently very serious about each other. Why would he have a problem with Janhvi?

5. Varun dropped out of Mr. Lele after releasing a first look and all that hype because he wanted to recover and reinvent himself after the Coolie No 1 disaster. Was that not unprofessional?

6. Brahmastra has been filming for God knows how long, that's not costing Dharma extra money, given what the audience now thinks of their star cast and might not go and watch the film?

If any of this is true and not a PR stunt, from what I gather looks like Kaartik did not give in to KJo's demands, well not everyone will kiss his ass. Because like we know, the big guys can do anything they want while the outsiders have to consider merely working with such a PH as a "blessing".

The same theory could be used for Karan Johar.

1. Karan Johar worked with SRK, Salman, Saif, Ranbir, Varun, Imran, Sidharth. None of these actors had a problem with him - he did not recast any of them after shooting some portions. Karthik seems to be the only one. Why?

2. Karan has been around for 2.5 decades. If he was such an evil control freak, how come Kajol worked with him in 5 films, Rani, Alia, Kareena?

Where are people "gathering it looks like Karthik didn't not give in to Kjo's demands"? Like where is this epiphany coming from? Thin air?

At this point in his career and with all the scrutiny he receives, and for sure very well knowing the "anti nepotism" gang will hound him and give him negative publicity, the fact that he still went down this route tells me that something was seriously wrong.

My guess is that Kartik started getting more offers as his star rose. Dating Sara and Janhvi probably made him arrogant too. He must have become reluctant to play a gay role now that other options were available to him.

Dostana has been getting delayed since 2019 since Kartik kept refusing to give dates. Mainstream heroes are not going to play gay. Maybe he was initially okay with it since it was his entry into Dharma but now he doesn't need KJo.

The only other options are Tiger and Vicky but I think they will decline a gay role too. No way will Ranveer or Ranbir agree either. Everyone else is too old. This movie will end up getting shelved unless they don't mind making it with someone new.
