Holy crap! Wow! Arsalan I seriously want to thank you for sharing these beautiful songs. I never thought about Arijit singing these songs but now after hearing them I wish there were studio recorded versions of these songs with Arijit's singing. His voice is just God's gift as is his singing I had goosebumps listening to these.

I don’t even like Arijit but I prefer him to Sonu

Arijit already had a longer phase at the top, didn't he? And it is still going and feels like only the beginning. I mean he hasn't even completed a full decade yet and he is pretty much the undisputed #1 of this generation. His competitions don't even touch him whereas Sonu had competitors like KK, Shaan, Udit, and also Kumar Sanu for awhile. I don't remember going through 90s (when Sonu wasn't as big) or 2000s ever hearing Sonu is the king of music. Heck I think Udit was seen more of a #1 in 2000s. I was a huge Sonu fan then and not really a Udit fan so I would've remembered if the consensus was Sonu was #1.

Arijit on the other hand has a record breaking number of awards. The best part is we know none of it is bought or given due to his stellar personality because this man doesn't socialize with anyone, keeps to himself and his personality is boring.

Majority of the time, every singer will always sing their own song better. Here is Arjit singing Gerua vs Sonu. Lyrics are different obviously since Sonu was ‘joking’ around but he clearly lacked the intensity and edge required for this song.

Both have different styles of singing, so there’s no need to put one down to elevate the other. At 3:50 you see Arjit laughing and clapping for Sonu. It’s pretty sad to see how accepting of one another they are, whilst you’re here putting them down.

Its not easy to sing another singer's song and almost impossible if those are such popular songs like KHNH

Sonu is definitely a superior singer than Arijit and much more versatile, but Arijit has a certain voice quality which is very smooth, unique and pleasant to listen to as well.

Making threads like these putting down other singers to show up Sonu is only going to make people hate Sonu Nigam. I am a massive Sonu fan, but such comparisons are tasteless

Then you don't know what "butchering a song" means . IMO when Neha Kakkar sang Falguni Pathak's "yaad piya ki" , Dhanvi Bhanusali sang Shreya's "leja leja re" , Tanishk Bagchi composed that " Masakkali 2" those are butchering.

Sonu is a great singer but he had his run.

Udit had lesser number of songs in 2000 compare to Sonu ,,, ....Udit domanted 1995 to 99 ....Sonu already took over from kumar sanu in late 90's .....and kumar sanu was no where around in 2000 had sung mostly in low budget films for nadeem shravan then ....Sonu was consistent till 2009....every govinda shahid kapoor shahrukh amir salman hhritk akshey hits had sonu to it ....Udit sang till 2004 here and there and faded out .....Arijit in his peak dont have much songs like Sonu had in 2000 ..Sonu used to sing 4-5 songs in an album ....and neither arijit had much variety like sonu had in his peak days ...

Let me put in this was 1990-1995 Kumar sanu had dominance.....1995-1999 Udit and Abhijeet took over from kumar sanu ....Sonu was shining out then and in 2000 he became the most popular voice singer even his solo albums were as big as his film songs which was not the case with UDIT album JAANAM which got released and no one talked about it .....and to now Sonu Nigam's Dewana is the most iconic independent music album of Indipop ......and Sonu had dominance till 2009...but was also present till 2012 singing for big actors in big films ...longest of udit naraynas who faded out in 2004 and kumar sanu who had much lessor number of songs in 2000 and that of nadeem shravans only with low budget films

Sonu can change his voices to different singers ....Sonu can sing in arijit singh raw tone to kumar sanu nasal tone ....but Arijit cant change his voice to sonu nigam or kumar sanu tone.. ....and its not messed up like arijit did to kal ho na ho a pure murder

hate for describing the fact is hate for inferiority complex .... No one in india have had the carrier with much diverse genres of songs like Sonu does in his carrier.....its the fact ...If Highlighting facts give arijit , udit , kumar fans pain in the head then what can i do lol
