its such a creepy and haunting film. I love it.

Particularly one scene really made me feel some kind of a way. that scene where Aamir just lies on the sofa at night with his sons lightsaber and reimagines tbe day the kid died and imagines it as scenarios that would have avoided his death like he agreeing to go with his son in the boat or refusing to let them go. Its such a realistic potrayal of grief

True!

The movie is at once an indictment and a celebration of grief. I don't know how it manages to do both, but it does.

My elder sister actually ruined this film for me by telling about Kareena, but still it's a great movie

That was just one aspect, a very important aspect, but not the be-all-and-end-all of the film. The film works at multiple levels, as I said before. It's an honest look at grief. It's a whodunnit. It's an exploration of paranormal or supernatural elements, and how these are intertwined with the day-to-day reality of life.

I loved every thing about that movie. It was a strange and haunting symphony about loss and grief. I especially loved the supernatural angle. I don't think we are as alone in this universe as we deem us to be. We are just disconnected, not alone. And sometimes the purity of our grief creates a channel to connect with other forms of life. However brief and fleeting that connection maybe, but for a second it sparks and illuminate our pathway.

Kareena's character was used more as a paranormal prop than fleshing it out as a flesh-and-blood sex worker. To be honest, I still don't get why the character was necessary at all, though the filmmaker probably considered it an important storytelling device. But she looked beautiful and acted well.

Rani and Aamir were absolutely convincing in their roles as well.

Are you serious? 😆

Right from the beginning to the end, almost everything took place because of her character.

First accident scene took place because of her character which was later revealed at the end. The whole movie was revolved around the investigation of that accident. If she didn't go with the 3 guys that night, that incident would have never taken place. Consequently, Shashi would never blackmail them. Same goes for Nawazuddin's character which took over the blackmailing after Shashi's death. It was her character which gives Aamir clues throughout the whole movie. And she is the reason as well why Aamir could finally accept the death of his son and stop blaming himself. So if it was not for her character, I don't know what the plot of Talaash would have been.

On topic, I thought it was a brilliant movie with an impressive climax and all the actors performed exceedingly well.

Haunting and brilliant. Aamir's best since Lagaan.

Such a sad situation that Bollywood doesn't have a rich history in mysteries, thrillers, and noirs. Talaash would have been appreciated a lot more if Bollywood wasn't so hung up on dramas, romance, and comedies.
