IMO comparing to his movies in 90's his performance in Dhrishyam is nothing extra ordinary.

The must watch movies of Mohanlal is Iruvar, Bharatham,Vanaprastham ( it's offbeat),Thuvanathumbikal,Thanmathra( his top-notch performance),Sadayam,,Spadikam,Devasuram, Kireedam ,Desharatham and Lucifer.

These are few of the must watch movies in Malayalam as well.

^Mohanlal in Thanmathra could eat up everyone in bollywood. I don't think I've seen anybody deliver such a performance.

I saw devgans version Drishyam in the wknd. and say i liked it very much, the twists were amazing.

must thank IF for the recommendation for Drishyam 2 ....now i will try to catch the Malayalam verson.

Yes I had watched Ajay's Drishyam first too..and I havent seen a taut thriller like that in a while in Bollywood..except maybe Kahaani. Then later I came to know it was a remake of Mohanlal's Drishyam. I liked Ajay's acting a lot in it, but frankly after watching D2..I can see why people cannot see anybody besides Mohanlal in that role - he is beyond effortless..so natural to watch! then I saw Papanasam too - Kamal Hassan was so overdramatic omg!

I mean I have been hearing great stuff about Malayalam cinema for a while, but havent watched anything yet besides Drishyam 2.

The movie was thrilling, no doubt. But just a question, did anyone else find the ending a little over the top? 😆

2. Manichitrathazhu (original of Bhool Bhulaya)

3. Kireedam

4. Lucifer

5. Grandmaster (thriller, available on Netflix)

6. Kaalapaani (quite old but brilliant)

7. Chitram

8. Oppam

9. Vanaprastham (got him national award)
