Is the question about agreeing or not that the comment is elitist. Or are you making a statement on the quality or talent of the actor?
My answer is that I do find the comment snobbish and offensive rather than elitist, because chances are the people making the comments are probably more lower middle class and less cash rich than the actor, and by the way there is nothing wrong with being middle class and from UP or Bihar. In my opinion he is very talented, yes he has a particular role that he fits in better but that is almost universal for all actors on the planet, for example when casting for Coyote Ugly the call went out for girls with a rocking hard body and the same goes for every film, the role of an athlete demands an athletic look etc... Good actors can make transitions and put their bodies thru grueling transformations to fit a part like Joaquin Phoenix who played Johnny Cash who was stalky and tall with a deep voice and then became freakishly emaciated and picked up strange mentally ill geek mannerisms to play the Joker. Won The Academy award for both roles, but those are usually lead actors who are in roles were a lot invested in them and they are paid accordingly so they have to deliver. Supporting actors have less demand placed on them.
M.r Triphati may be perfectly happy playing the roles that he does, he seems to always be busy and he does have choices and can refuse roles.
HR in Super 30 was Super. Period. I'm not even going to discuss that one, because India missed the boat (again) on bringing home the Academy Award, due to ego, elitism, casteism, classism, corruption and plain old ignorance with a capital I.....
