One trick pony.
The fact that he took two years of his life to make an exact copy of his film Arjun Reddy (which itself was heavily inspired from several films such as Flight) shows that he is not a very creative man.
The only reason Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh was successful is because of its unabashed toxic masculinity and blatant misogyny. These aspects, which are repressed among many people, were glorified and presented in a glamorous manner, leading to its immediate acceptance.
YES, to every word you wrote. Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh doesn't even have a decent storyline, and the way the lead characters separate and reunite is just lame. These movies are a rage mainly because they appeal to those who have a fetish for the bad boy-good girl trope.
Rather than focussing on plot and characters, Vanga seems more interested in finding ways of wasting screentime to glamorize shitty behaviour of abusive, toxic men. Its like: "Dekho dekho! Here is this scene of our hero doing THIS cool, edgy sh*t."..."Now take another scene!... Now our hero is so mad/depressed he doing THAT cool, edgy sh*t!!!"... And repeat.
^^^That's the entirety of Kabir Singh for me honestly. 🥱
I don't see this film Animal, being any different. And obviously audience will lap it up like they did for AR/KS.
Throw in an angsty soundtrack and you have a blockbuster in the making 👏
