Why wasn’t Katrina paired opposite Salman in Partner ?

Considering the fact that they were dating and Salman was also the producer , why was she cast opposite Govinda and not him ? Infact Lara got the better role and a solo song with Salman too . Same thing happened in MPKK where Sushmita was the main lead

At the time they were more famous than Katrina

Just the way Sushmita had a better role in Maine pyaar kyun kiya.

Lara was Miss Universe. Did much more work and was more popular and senior to Katrina, who was not a well-known face since she had yet to have a hit film despite so many years in the business.

Because Kat was a new face at the time and Lara was Miss Universe, so much higher in popularity. Kat has already worked opposite Salman in MPKK.

I doubt playing a single mother at that age would suit Kat, since those films were gonna either make or break her career. Even Salman knew it would've been bad for her career.

Plus they needed someone glamorous opposite Govinda and when u have Govinda it doesn't matter who the heroine is, coz he is all your gonna watch 😆

It was after Partner that she became a huge name and gradually went on the road towards becoming an A Lister.

Because Salman didn't want to be too 'upfront' or 'in-your-face' about his relationship with Katrina.

He actually wanted her to establish herself as a successful actress first, that's why he was 'allowing' her to working left, right and center with Akshay Kumar and other heroes.

Yuvraj was supposed to be their big, dream project together but it flopped & didn't do much for their Jodi.😆

I once heard that initially Salman was supposed to do Govinda's role in Partner and that's why Kat was casted in the film.

But then he realized that a goofy character doesn't go well with his macho man image, so he gave up that role.

In MPKK he was romancing both Sushmita and Kat so it didn't matter. But Sushmita had a better role because she was a more popular actress at that time.

I think it would might just be that she suited more to the role of an elite woman, someone, who a commoner would never think of approaching, but at same time she is gentle and sensitive.

In the posters I thought salman and katrina were cast together ! But it's ok later on we saw them together in Yuvvraaj 😆
