Like no Indian female friends for Jazz, and no like minded British Indian suitors either 😕🤔

Malhotra family's only desi friends are that one Pakistani family, who's son is apparently evil because he's not religious and helped Jazz escape her forced marriage

Maybe the family didn't know many British Desi families, that's not a problem. But yeah, they could've at least tried to look for matches inside the UK. They didn't do it, that's what I find weird.

I think it was done deliberately to make us hate Jazz in the beginning... why would we think she's evil and weird if she has 5 other desi girls as friends who are all similar??

And they didn't do it because they want to pitt "westernised" (therefor bad) values against "good" "Indian" values (some of which are illegal in India, but never mind that )

I don’t know how I feel about the movie.

I personally feel in this movie, Rishi’s character may have realised that Charlie wasn’t the right person for Jazz or that Jazz was getting out of control. So as a father he wanted to protect her. What he did do wrong was assuming Arjun will be the right choice and deciding on Jazz’s behalf who will keep her happy. One day or the other Jazz would have realised her error in choosing Charlie.

Arjun was played the most because realistically had Jazz not fallen in love with him she would have married Charlie and he would have been left heartbroken. Rishis character would have ended up ruining the friendship the two family once shared.

All of this ..

Ending literally justified forced marriage .. jazz’s dad was so delusional and brainwashed

Yeah he was crazy...

This entire film was like an awful, senseless answer to DDLJ by some mcp who thinks fathers have a right to force their daughters into marriage, never mind that literally no religion endorses it 😕

Yes Arjun was a victim too but Jazz was worse off imo...

He consented to this marriage with a girl he didn't even know, without knowing whether she even likes him, just because she's pretty and lives in the U.K. ...

Jazz didn't even want to marry Arjun, and got deceived into coming to India for a forced marriage..

And yeah Charlie was horrible but that doesn't make her Dad's regressive views and actions ok...

Ikr like how is it okay for a father to trick his daughter into a marriage ? He could have destroyed two lives , one his daughter and another the guy who was dragged in their family drama for no reason ..

Jax was tricked, yes but she married Arjun herself despite the fact k she had a chance to runaway.. she decided to get married and not runaway and bring Arjun to NY where the marriage would be invalid.. simply running away would have been so much easier😆

Run to where though? She was deliberately brought to a foreign country about which she knew very little...

She wasn't perfect, and her choice of life partner (Charlie) as highly questionable, but she didn't do anything illegal or morally as wrong as what her Dad did...

never said she was wrong or ger dad was right.. I am saying k running away as her original plan was easier.. it was her friends idea to go for that marriage being cancelled thingy.. warna she was all set to run

Ermm I didn’t say anywhere the actions of dad were ok. He had the right to be worried but didn’t have the right to decide who she’ll be happy with. Eventually she herself would have realised her error.

I feel worse for Arjun because there are many guys and girls who will say yes to the marriage to come to UK etc. The father kept him in the dark and daughter did the same. Infact if things didn’t work out the father daughter played with the emotions of the entire family in Punjab who trusted them.
