I think you are being very naive. This is a govt that arrests small student activists because it benefits them. "Largest political party" or not, they have to do everything in their might to keep their power. That's why they will resort to anything.
And CBI, NCB, ED, all these agencies are under the govt. They can be misused as per their whims and fancies. Just today there was a CBI raid on an opposition party leader in Karnataka, based on information passed on by BJP. Why? There are no corrupt people in BJP? Why no raids on them? Because that's how power works.
Yes, BJP, CBI and NCB will not suffer a loss if everyone of these is innocent. Why? Because they have nothing to lose! They are only being kept in custody to keep masses happy and to give an impression that some serious investigation is happening, when in fact, there is none.
The laughable arguments by NCB's lawyer in courts proves my point.
Either you're new to politics, or you're really under-estimating BJP tactics.
You mean the “small student activists” who were rioting in the middle of their campus and all over the streets of India for nearly four months straight because of a law they didn’t like?
Or the “activists” who went one step ahead and started killing people, burning buildings etc?
I find it very strange how being a university student is used to excuse all kinds of crime in India 🤔
Waise bhi all that aside, if BJP were into arresting all dissenters willy nilly just for opposing them then actual (peaceful) activists like Rana Ayub, Arfa Sherwani, etc, or left wing journalists like Barkha Dutt and possibly actors who regularly criticise the party (Konkona, Swara, Tapsee, Sonam) would be the ones in trouble, not this Rhea 😭
In fact the fact that these people walk free whilst criticising Modi, Shah, BJP pretty much 24/7 shows that whether you like them or not, BJP clearly don’t throw people in jail for just criticising them 🤷🏽♀️
In fact even people linked with BJP have been arrested recently by the government for drug related offences, so I think we can agree that Rhea and co’s arrest is hardy political.
