Social media brings out the worst in people, especially Twitter, because you can say horrible things anonymously and there are no consequences. They literally hand out death threats, rape threats, wish for people's parents to die, and spread religious hatred. They find some weird twisted meanings out of even the most sensible comments. It's on purpose because negative tweets go viral and positive ones hardly do. Anything for retweets and likes. People are desperate for their 15 seconds of attention.
