Its okay, if you dont like her. But this is nasty...she is a 26 year old Girl who just is working towards building a career. Also its amazing how this nepotism debate does not effect Varun Dhawan or any other male stars as it does to Alia. There is so much inbuilt misogyny, and sheep mentality in our country."

I fully agree with every word. Yes Alia is privileged and incredibly fortunate that Karan took to her in such a big way and gave her amazing opportunities but that's not any fault of her own. Any actor would say yes to such amazing offers. It's also not her fault that her peers in the industry think she's the greatest actress currently, that's their opinion but doesn't have to affect your opinion. Aren't you watching films for your own enjoyment so why does it matter if a group of people think she's the best?

People also keep saying that she stole projects or blocked other actresses but where is the proof? Only concrete example I see being brought up is Dear Zindagi where she admitted that she came on board after another actress was involved...BUT we don't know the details. What if that actress dropped out or the director felt she wasn't right anymore? I feel people are turning their speculations into facts and wrongly spreading misinformation. As far as I know, no one has ever complained of any wrongdoings by her within the industry. If she was as bad as some people now think, wouldn't people who've interacted with her be the first to say that?

The misogyny is also very apparent. Take Sadak 2 for example. Sanjay and ARK are also products of nepotism. In fact, Sanjay has a criminal record and a very shady terrorist past which is easily far far worse than anything people are claiming Alia has done yet I see comments on social media praising him or feeling sad for him. The moralities in question seem to apply only to a certain set of people and gender.

That being said, there is absolutely a toxic and unprofessional culture in the industry but nepotism is a deeply systemic problem due to our society in general. There is nothing to gain from targetting a few individuals, they will just be replaced by others who will make all the same moves. Change will only come when the issues are addressed at every level in the system. Instead of positivity and mass support towards outsiders especially newcomers, there is a horrifying cycle of abuse and toxicity going on....aren't we just perpetuating the bullying that SSR went through?

If we make her movie hit then again the blame will come on us? Audience is the fault here.

Vidyut movie trailer only got few likes, audience fault.

Not we are reacting the opposite, that is also audience fault? In another thread some are saying the poor workers dont get money if we boycott but the rich have money to last 7 generations, if the rich have some much money, why arent they paying the poor? What kind of human being these people are? I have to worry about my expenses or spot boys wages?

How much love is Alia showing to outsiders?

Because KJo? Kjo got most amount of hate all throughout. Alia gets this much hate because she is his "daughter". She gets hate because she goes up in every award show to thank her father who is accused of favoring star kids.

There is no reason to connect Rhea and Alia. Yes the world is sexist and the world always finds a way to blame the woman but in this case Sushant's family actually did accuse Rhea of some serious stuff.

Deservingly or undeservingly she has become the face of nepotism.

Hence she is getting the most hate. On top of that, Mahesh Bhatt, is her father and Karan Johar is her mentor.

Also can reddit ke chardarmodo ko bolo apni opinion apni bund mai daale. "indian mob mentality", "misogyny". Kuch bhi hag do muh se to appear woke.

I dislike the nepo gang, but @bold happens to be true. MM is everywhere. Misogyny is as well, but it is greater in India.

And I don't dislike the so called nepo gang, infact I like them.

But this negative trending against Sadak 2 has nothing to do with misogyny. I mean few months back, the trend in India Internet space was down voting Tik Tok in google play and videos of Tik tokers in YouTube. What are the reddit woke audience gonna say about it? tiktok phobia or they are as always going to come up with new ideas like "Islamophobia" because Amir Siddique and all members of Team Nawab are all Muslims or they are gonna come up with "Racism against Chinese" because it is Chinese app.

As for mob mentality being in India, seems like people forget that negative voting trends in internet is a thing going on since ages, why make it like an Indian thing?

That's why I said mob mentality is everywhere. Twitter is prob the worst IMO. Not sure how many here follow book twitter, but it is populated by ignoramuses pretending to be so intellectual and so woke.

Misogyny is also worldwide, but being an Indian woman who's lived in a couple of diff places in the world I can easily say it is very blatant in India and more horrifyingly, accepted as normal even by women.

Why I believe it has something to do with the dislikes on the trailer... wait until Brahmastra trailer comes out. Or 83. Or the next Hrithik movie. Or a Tiger movie. I bet we're not going to find the same level of hatred.

We are not going to get same level of hatred because none of the said actors have the found their name in the SSR case like Alia has. Whether it is bad luck or anything, but people believe Alia was one of those who bullied SSR.

Hence there is always gonna be stronger backlash against the likes of Alia, Kjo, Salman and Mahesh Bhatt. Because these people are the one who are getting targeted by everyone in the social media and media. It has nothing to do with the so called misogyny.

Also 1983 ka kya lena dena with nepotism debate.

More than Alia, this disgust is towards the concept of someone so mediocre and embarrassing being propelled to star status with deliberate marketing and force-feeding. Alia happens to be the poster child of that concept cuz her "star power" is a scam.

People who scam themselves to star status are consequently the arch enemies of talented people who work honestly and don't compromise their ethics. Why should people encourage scamsters who engage in dishonest schemes? These nepo apologists really need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Should a person have to go through so much hatred? Ideally, no. But like y'all say, life ain't whoop-de-doo.

The kind of "stardom" that Alia has been hankering for since the beginning of her career, this level of outrage comes with the price. Ideally, no one should receive hatred but hey, nepo apologists, world ain't perfect and definitely not a bed of roses if you're a "star." Let Alia deal with the good, the bad and the ugly of her "stardom" now why don't we? Are you feeling sympathy now?

While being an influential "star," if she could do whatever the heck she wanted without any accountability (their money, their clout, after all), the same line of reasoning applies to people who are now expressing their disgust towards her too. People are fully entitled to dislike her much the same way and you can do nothing about it except zip it up. smiley20
