It might take and year to release cure or vaccine. By then, everyone would have had it. Some unfortunates will leave the world and rest will be resistant. After that I don’t know, what will be the use.
Yes, Covid has killed a lot of people. But media is not making our life easier. It only speaks about mortality which is less than 5% (fortunately in India, mortality is lower), but never much about the recovery which is more than 95%.
Weeks ago we heard, Jyotiraditya Sindhya being Covid + and admitted to hospital. Did we hear when he got discharged? No. Instead media jumped to Bacchans being admitted to hospital. When they get discharged, again they will be playing some other celebrity being admitted. For them, getting discharged after Covid is not news. They publish the next news only if the person leaves this world. This negative news reporting has generated fear.
Yes, we all need to be careful. But in case If we get it, we have to assure ourselves, not to panic.
Good that Aishwarya and Aradhya are home quarantined. Children under ten are usually asymptomatic though they can infect others. Here Aishwarya also has it, so they can support each other. Unless the patient has breathing problem and needs oxygen or ventilator, they don’t need admission in hospital (specially when all hospitals are running out of beds for emergency patients). Sr Bacchan did not seem to have short of breath when he was talking. Still owing to his age and other illness he might need hospital. But why Abhishek? Either he is wasting bed or it is severe. I hate if it is first one. But still I hope it is the first one, as I cannot imagine the second one.
@bold : thats why we need to also watch regional news channel......they give such reports........ i have been watching marathi news channel, and most often they keep showing people being discharged and how the hospital staff give them a good send off.......also they keep showing the recovery rate in most district of Maharashtra....
I think, we have to thank the BCG injections for the low mortality rate in India.....
