The first part might be possible (even though it still doesn't seem believable to me when I listen to Hrithik) 😗 but based on Hrithik's response to Rangoli's mails here

and the lack of evidence from Kangana's side, I really don't think that @bold happened.

Look at this for instance. She sent this in November 2014 to his real email address (after she had lashed out at him at the party where he was clueless about praising her for Queen, before the morning she sent a barrage of abusive texts) and from that third paragraph, it's quite clear nothing happened between them. Besides, Hrithik wrote that panicked message to Rangoli in May 2014. He obviously wouldn't hook up with her after November 2014 (to finally pull her close and make her faint ☻).

My theory is that Kangana had this unflinching/growing hope of ending up with him since before she started doing films/believed that he's her soulmate or whatever, but then he didn't reciprocate. The question is who is the 'imposter'?

Nah both parties released those mails and Hrithik even did an interview with Arnab Goswami acknowledging the receipt of those mails. She actually acknowledged writing some of those mails too.

Hrithik is a gentleman...He come across as very very genuine person. Not a single time he used any bad language against the lady. ( and look at her... bad language everywhere.. no class)

He is such a hard worker. Dr has told him that he may not even walk.. and look where he is just based on his will power..!

How much this lady troubled him... It is just insane.

This is not about man or woman.. it is about being human. Kangana can't play woman card.

And Kangana has troubled so many others too...

I don't think there was anything between them and I trust Hrithik.

If he had dumped her for Katrina, the whole world would know it by now. She would have given thousands of interviews and accused Katrina of having stolen her great love.

See how she's still after Ranbir just because he rejected her nude pictures back then.

I am so angry that hrithik had to go through all this unnecessary stress because of that stupid psycho. I completely support hrithik and think he had nothing to do with kangna, no affair nothing.

Really started disliking both Kangana and Hritik after this whole thing, especially Kangana. It's so annoying when men lead women on and when women act so obsessed with that one guy like they have nothing else going on in their life.

Whatever was there or not there in the past.. Right now there is one thing for sure and thats targeted harassment of Hrithik by Kangana, her sister and her bots. Bechara kaha fas gaya!!
