They don't need to deactive instagram. That platform is catered to celebrities. They can easily buy followers and even fake comments. Those comments are too hard to scroll through just because of how it's built. Even if you scroll for hours, you won't be able to see most of the comments. They also have an algorithm that gives importance to some comments over others so all nice celeb comments arrive right at the top.
Insta gives the accounts owner all the rights. At tough times, you can just stop comments or limit comments to followers. You can also delete whatever comments you want.
Just become an influencer with lots of bought followers and put up ads and paid partnerships and it can start earning you good money. You can easily get free vacations and other gifts just for posting stories.
Twitter is too problematic. You can't delete anything and even random comments from small accounts can go viral. Retweets from bots are too noticeable to be a strategy that they can really use. Poor engagement percents show everywhere but show a LOT more on twitter.
This reminds me to throw a cuss word or two at Mark Zukerbooga.
I don't have an Instagram account. And whenever I open a celebrity's public post, in a few seconds Zukerbooga wants me to create an account. What a greedy a$$$$$e.
