Producers and Music Companies were fighting against Music Directors and Lyricists. Singers got added very late to the mix.

Honestly the songs have MADE the actors faces, the music teams deserve much more credit than what they get.

Retirement doesnt matter ...atleast he respect other efforts to his carrier ....voices make hell difference to actors , watch srk lypsync to arijit voice and watch srk lypsynch to sonu nigam , abhijeet or udit narayan voice ....the comfort he have with sonu , udit , abhijeet as a playback voice is a class

Maybe in versatility but I was specifically talking about voice and texture and just giving my opinion. I lean more towards male voices that are rugged or gravely like Arijith's, Atif, Mohit or Vishal Mishra.

It's the public's fault for making Salman think he's a good singer. Look at how many youtube views those silly music videos from his farmhouse got.

Arijit, Atifs kind are more westernised wannabee modern singers :) my concern was for traditional playback singing who follow Muhammad Rafi expressions .... atif arijit are different singing he isn't competition with these guys because they all were kids when sonu started ....his competition were kumar sanu , udit narayan back in his days althogh they were good but were monotonous Sonu given the westren singing touch even in 90's with his Yeh Dil Dewana from Pardes to What is mobile number kind of songs :)

Jus few days back was watching a concert where sonu was singing all rafi songs. Sorry to say but he was literally ruining those songs. Indian idol contestants do better job at these songs.

I felt he shud stick to his own songs.

lol how come u know he was ruining rafi songs have u learnt music more then him and have u heard rafi more than him lol judgemental mentality.....infact Mana dey said to him that u are born in wrong era u could have born in our era so that i could have given you healthy compititon ...Mana dey is someone who was even more classically trained singer than Rafi himself....someone of that calibre have ability to judge sonu who are u and i to judge who sang how , salman singing is different thing though... Sonu in his teen years have sang rafi songs more beautifully then idols contentant ...chk here
